Post any questions you need answered on converting from nfs4-Hp2 and i will help as much as possible.

p.s. please make sure you're questions are specificly for converting and not building cars from scratch as there are already good tutorials for that.
also make sure you explain you problem thoroughly and i possible......provide a pic.

Well, i'm having trouble with the textures. I try to save the .tga file into .bmp format, bt I lose the alpha channels. Plus, I dont know how to set them up.

HP2 doesn't use the alpha channel. just convert the TGA to BMP. and replace the 0000.bmp, then you have to grayscale the TGA and then index it and save it as the 0000a.bmp, i use photoshop for this, i don't know how to do it in other programs. what you also have to do with the texture files is mirror them, or thats what i had to do, but i haven't figured it out completely yet. hope this helps mate :wink:

warpenup, if you have O-Edit you have to open the Geomdata.ini file and change the damagezoneid around to achieve the effect that you want... :twisted:

Hi again Viper ;). Just wanted to ask how to make the windows transparent. Also, that **** Oedit doesn't work! It always fails to save the edited mesh, so I can't replace dummies in "Skeleton.o" :x .. Is there any other way to fix the "crazy wheels?.."
I attached a pic: pay attention where is the front wheel sitting ...:?: That thing just kills...

warpenup are you using a browser apart from IE.??For example Opera..?If that's the case try right clicking on the link and select "save target as.."

@grungy
before you save the skeleton file grungy, make sure the file is archive and not read only :wink:

also to make the windows transparent, before you convert to oif, in zmod.......choose the window verts and the goto the plugins menu at the top toolbar, click on OIF custom settings and change vertex colour to 7F000000. hope this helps

Well, I didnt remap the textures. All I did was convert it to .bmp format and made the size 512x512.

Well, i'll jus wait till a tutorial comes out for converting. :?

new skeleton.O files cannot be created yet (i'm not sure if they ever will). you have to alter an existing one.

unfortunately, the tutorial had to be put on hold.

i've came across a problem with converting some cars and i need to figure it out before i release the tutorial.

I beleve I have found my problem. Wenever I try to pack the skin file, it always says "unsucessful termination" and that the file doesnt have a 8-bit alpha channel. I dont know how to save the alpha channel to the .bmp format.

EDIT: I have solved my problem but I dont know how I did it. Now my next problem is trying to make the windows transparent. Anybody know how?

to make the windows transparent.......make sure the parts name has [t] after it and also select all the verticals of the windows in zmodeler then goto the top bar and select Plugins-OIF Custom settings, then in the vertex color box put the value 7F000000 and click apply. :wink:
