NFSU2 and ATI X700 Pro

Post by sonic09 »

I have really low FPS in NFSU2. I have turn off nearly everything to make it running smooth. Currently Playing 800x600, cause my Monitor can't take more than that =;]. The FPS drops mostly when the other cars are infront of me also in certain places in street X, Drift, or in the Town in the Market Place with that Fountains in the center, or at the end of the race when your car comes to the crowd. The overall FPS is around 20. Ranges from 07-30.

I saw a benchmark on HardOCP using NFSU2 with the same card as I have (except that it was for PCIe), and it was running without problems.

This SUX, man

My PC:
Athlon XP 1800+
MB ASUS A7V8X-X
256MB DDR333
ATI Sapphire RadeON X700Pro 128MB AGP8x
Hitachi 250GB HDD 7200RPM 8MBCache
WinXPProSP2

one of my friends says that on his PC with everything High runs smooth(although I didn't see it-and still can't quite believe it).
His PC:
Athlon XP 1700+
MB Abit (don't know exactly which)
256MB DDR400
ATI RadeON 9200 AGP8x
WD 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache.

Any Ideas?

Motherboard chipset drivers properly installed (in your case VIA 4in1 drivers)? Latest ATI drivers installed? More RAM will help lots, 256 MB is absolutely bare minimum for just WinXP alone, not to mention gaming. X700Pro should itself be more then enough for NFSU2.

Yep, latest Via drivers installed. Not sure about the ATI Drivers. I'll check.

About rams - soon i'll be upgrading :D so we'll see, anyway my friend has also 256 and still has no problems and I don't think that the 333 and 400Mhz is that big difference.
