In the News
If you don't already knew, the release date for Need for Speed: SHIFT has been set to be on September 17 for Europe and September 22 for North America. Mark those dates on your calendar!

Along with the announcement of the release date, the new website for the game is now online for you to check out! Click this link to go straight to the new site. On that website, you can view screenshots, trailers and also the latest Need for Speed news.

EA has come up with a new de-authorization tool for its players. This is to benefit those playing the games which uses SecuROM DRM, such as Need for Speed Most Wanted. With this tool, you can now de-authorize the use of the game on the PC you are not using, so that you could use it on a new PC.

It's gonna be Easter's Day soon. To celebrate it, NFS-Planet has started its Easter Egg Hunt again this year. All you needed to do is find 5 out of 10 Easter Eggs scattered through out the website. The contest is unfortunately over. So let's just wait to see the results! Good luck to everyone!

New and Upcoming Feature
In order to be more precise in giving ratings for cars in the showroom, the rating system is now revised to include a new category rating. This allows you to rate on how much the car or artwork fits in the category. This is done in order to benefit those being disadvantaged by cars that are in the wrong category. To learn more about this improved rating system, click here.

There will also be a small add-on to the showroom. This has got to do with cars from the showroom being featured in The Showroom Weekly's In the Spotlight and Presentation of the Week section. For every featured cars or presentation, that particular work will be awarded with the SRW's "Featured" banner. This is somehow similar to the banner for participants of CTC and the Showroom Challenge.

The feature will be in operation soon, so watch out for that!

Community Tuning Challenge

Voting for DUB challenge for Need for Speed Undercover is now open; the goal of the challenge being to put the more unusual choices of "bling" wheels in Undercover to good use on a luxury/show-style car. Check out various users' ultimate luxury cruisers and head to the challenge page to see the entries, talk about the competition, and vote for your favourites!

Voting closes on the 18th of April 2009 09:30 GMT+10.5, with the winners announced shortly afterwards.

If you have any suggestions for future competitions, feel free to bring them up in the CTC group, and please have your say in what themes you would like to see for Undercover, Prostreet and Underground 2.

In the Spotlight
Spider's house by Ruslan-spb

To stand out from the crowd you have to dare to be different, and this car does just that with its huge, eye-catching, spider-web graphic layout. A mess of tribals and vector-beams help emulate a huge spider web, and the animal vinyls have been put to good use. Tough bodywork, and sporty, but flashy rims top off a crazy import package that screams for attention.

"Clash" by tavaski

If you looked up crazy in the dictionary… this car should be in it. The most striking feature is definitely the insane, jagged two-tone. The contrasting red and blue paint is neatly separated by a white stripe down the car and the end result is absolutely stunning. A very sharp race inspired body kit has been fitted to the ride to match the extroverted paintwork, and its design is equally flamboyant. Matching rims have been coated in white and are a perfect match to the white striping and are the final piece to this mad showcar. It just screams for the spotlight!

McLaren F1 LM by FAKEbrand

The McLaren F1is one car that makes people sit up and pay attention. However, in the showroom, money is no limit and there are plenty of radically modified McLaren F1s on display. To stand out from the crowd you need to do something seriously interesting .This car's bright orange paintwork screams for attention and its matte finish gives it that unique touch that is sure to set it apart from other F1s. A neat black two tone contrasts nicely against the base paint with clean white striping to top it off. The two tone makes good use of the cars lines highlighting these features and enhancing the bodywork. Some neat decals and aggressive rims top off this crazier version of one of the most famous super cars ever.

Presentation of the Week
Prince of Desolation-Lands of Darkness by Dr.Motor

This is one car with attitude! A monstrous theme has been chosen, and the crazy mural work sets it apart from many of the other cars in the showroom. A detailed pre-made monster vinyl is the centrepiece of the layout, with a fitting background constructed around it , which has a very spooky feel with dark colours used, black trees and a skeleton bird. The body is the usual "tough as nails evo" affair, and the resulting package is monstrous

An equally stunning presentation complements the car, with a spooky, greyscale background and a red glow that suggests danger, and also helps the car stand out from the background. The car and presentation package is definitely something different in the Undercover showroom and a definite standout.

Eagle One by Nasko

We're featuring one more crazy show car this issue, which is none other than Nasko's Eagle One. The car is simply stunning and so full of life. Firsty, a sporty, yet elegant full bodykit has been fitted to the car to pump it up a bit and give it a tougher stance, making it more a of Jaguar than the Feral Cat the stock model was. Some elegant, yet sporty rims fashionably finished in black are another good choice that looks fantastic on this car. These well-chosen parts are complemented nicely with a crazy graphics package. A very vibrant pearlescent orange colour draws attention to the car and the modern grey eagle vinyl layout on top contrasts nicely and looks as amazing as it is crazy.

The presentation is of an equally high standard, the reflections on the car being polished to perfection to make the colours even more vibrant and to improve the graphics. A neat and elegant layout incorporated some additional in game photography, the manufacturer's logo, and a simple background. It nicely enhances this amazing ride without stealing the show.

Words from the Staff
We are currently still a bit short-handed. We will need more staff for the Showroom Weekly if we are to maintain its quality and if it is to be published consistently. If you're interested, just send a PM stating your interest to ahmad0410. Thank you!

Words from the Webmaster
First of all I'd like to say thanks to the Showroom Weekly Team for doing such a great job with releasing the articles almost every week - soon they're going to hit the number 50 which I think is an amazing achievement! They are looking for some help, so if you think you can contribute an article or two be sure to contact them.
If you've noticed, a couple of new features have been added to the Showroom lately: the category ratings and the Hall of Fame list by favourites. This means the development on the Showroom has certainly not ended and will continue. In fact, if you have any comments on the current Showroom or would like to suggest any new features, post them in the forum or contact me with a private message.
