Community Tuning Challenge

Entry for Touring Car Challenge for Need for Speed Prostreet is now open; the idea behind the theme being to transform standard cars into performance beasts to showcase the manufacturer's technologies, just like the various touring cars you may see in GT3, DTM and SuperGT. Widebody kits, race wheels and race livery will be plentiful here if you're into that sort of thing, so sign up and build your ultimate race car! Head to the challenge page for more information and to sign up!

The Spotlight
Import Showdown by ianextremadura

Here we have a very eye-catching and Japanese themed supra. It has all the usual additions to bodywork such as a beefed up body kit, performance rims, GT wing, but its vinyl layout is what makes it stand out. It is covered from head to toe in a racing-type livery, and resembles a touring car more than a performance street car. Red and white make up a two-tone style paintjob, and yellow and black details add to it. However, more elaborate graphics than typical race cars and more elegant rims add some show-car style. It is a good blend of show and race styling and overall creates a very interesting demo car for a Japanese tuning brand.

Presentation of the Week
Tribal Dragon by PANZER_SVK

This is one brutal Japanese ride… everything from the base car itself, the legendary Japanese super-car killer, the GTR, and the aggressive dragon livery and rims that decorate it. The rims are of a pure performance design, and the gold coating adds some nice JDM bling. The dragon vinyl is beautifully crafted from various tribal vinyls, with patterns on the wings and an extra smoke and flame trail to add texture to the base. This layout shows impressive attention to detail. Neat decals top off the performance look.
The presentation itself is very clean and modern, complementing this high-tech import very nicely. A vectorised dragon forms the digital textured background, and smoke and light rays emphasise the car's mythical status. This is a monster car with a nice presentation to do it justice.

[WHITE NINJA] by ::nica::

The final wild Japanese import featured this month is nica's stunning White Ninja. The full body graphic layout has huge visual impact and manages to look chaotic, yet structured. The layout looks very modern and has a very manga-like feel to it. Together with a brutal wide-body kit and hardcore race rims, it has huge presence in the showroom and is a very unique take on the Japanese style. The layout also continues on the hood and is very consistent.

The presentation is rather simple, but stunning. It looks like a professional poster set from a car magazine and has very modern and artistic qualities. It's plain white background makes sure the darker car is the centre of attention, and ghosted Japanese writing adds a little extra to the presentation. The shadows are well done and the car has a fine white stroke around it so it is not lost in the background. Although relatively clean and minimalist, the background looks like it belongs in an art gallery. A Japanese painting has been broken up into fragments and positioned behind the car, showing an impressive standard of quality that could be found in a magazine. This car is definitely one that has to be featured!
