New World Beta Release Notes

Those of you involved in the beta this weekend can already download the new client (remember, you have to uninstall the old one). The servers will go online tonight!



[b]And here is a list of what you can expect in the new beta, the release notes:[/b]

- SpeedBoost: SpeedBoost has been added to each persona. Items such as power-ups and rental cars can now be purchased using SpeedBoost.

- Purchasing Flows: New SpeedBoost screens have been added. Click on the SpeedBoost symbol anywhere in the game to open the SpeedBoost purchasing screens.

- 15 More Driver Skills: Race, Pursuits and Exploration Driver Skills with multiple ranks spread over the new levels.

- Progression Amplifiers: Progression Amplifiers give an increase to Rep or in-game Tokens.

- 4 New cars: Nissan 240SX [Tier 1], Nissan Silvia (S15) [Tier 1], Toyota Corolla GTS (AE86) [Tier 1], Volkswagen Scirocco [Tier 1]

- 2-Way Friend Request System: Players now have the option to accept or decline proposed friend requests (Currently limited to 3 friends).

- Facebook Connect: Our Need for Speed World website now offers the option to "Facebook Connect". This allows users to link their EA account to their Facebook account allowing log-in our portal with their Facebook log-in info.

- Import Friends from Facebook: Users who have gone through "Facebook Connect" on our website, will have the option to import their Facebook friends into their in-game friends list. Only friends who have also Facebook connected will be selectable. The user is able to import friends each time they log-in to the website.

- Friends Rankings: Ranking system has been added to the News gadget to compare yourself to your friends.

- My Motto: A personal quote can be added under your persona name in the profile gadget.

- Improved disconnection error messages: User is informed of disconnects through the chat window.

- Improved Race & Traffic AI: Traffic is no longer out of control. Race AI is no longer crashing into walls and barriers.

- Improved Sense of Speed: Improved FPS, speed lines and motion blur for a greater sense of speed.

- News Gadget: Updates on friends, your recent accomplishments, system updates.

- More Vinyls: More vinyl layers have been added for more car visual customization possibilities.

- Paint Specific Regions: The user can now paint individual sections of the vehicle including, hood, doors, rear/front bumpers, spoilers and rims.

- Player profile in Safehouse: Player Profile with Driver Skills, friend compare and profile statistics has been added to the Safehouse.

- Progression: More levels for extended playability.

- Pursuit Milestones: Add rep rewards during pursuits for breaking rules of the road.

- Recent Players List: Drivers met in previous events will appear in a window within your social gadget.

- Rental Cars: Tuned cars can be purchased for a predetermined amount of time with SpeedBoost.

- Stats Tracking: View your career stats, your friend's or compare your own with your friends



[b]And the list of known bugs:[/b]

** Need to uninstall any previous versions of the game **

- Friends & News Gadget may impact client performance, and connectivity.

- Player connections sometimes timeout after readying, or running down the Lobby clock to 0:00.

- Players occasionally are not able to proceed into the Lobby, and will indefinitely search for Opponents.

- Rarely Friends/Friend Requests couldn't be removed or accepted

- Saving Vinyl changes rarely fail, or will cause a disconnection (With changes lost).

- Sometimes there is a long delay loading into a Multiplayer race where the player is able to drive around in free roam.

- Vinyls & Paints do not always show up in Freeroam when many cars meet up in Freeroam
