The Showroom
Mustang !COBRA!-'03 'stang::Tuning Race
by baumaxx1|
Basic info Car: 2003 Ford Mustang GT Date added: Sunday, 20. January 2008 From garage: X.Treme Description: Built to compete in a Tuning Race against Nukerock. We settled on this rare care in the showroom, which neither of us have done before. Not knowing where to go... I thought it'd make a good lowrider, so I got the kit organised with a billet grille. (Can't lost the spoiler, and this one doesn't look too bad) Next, I started doing a two tone which followed the cars lines, and thought I'd do some sort of striking pattern in the middle. It was then that the Cobra idea came to me and I began making a desert looking mural. The mural is another metaphor... As there is a Ford Mustang Cobra, I toyed with that name and came up with a cobra that will destroy its opponents... both cobras. The showy layout fit's its agressive yet showy kit. Attention to detail has been paid, with shadows for the "enemy" and cabin in the distance, and the sun is in the right position for the shadows. Smart decaling has also been incorporated, and the layout looks more complete with it. Just pretend it's the cobra model just for the sake of the theme. There's barely a difference, and none you would notice when this modified. Rim choice is the classic American Racing rims, with the compulsory dish on such an aggressive ride. It was a tough shoice with the rims, firstly starting with a set of BBS (last ones), but they were to busy IMO, not complementing the layout... Then I tried some drag rims, but they sucked. Finally, I turned to American Racing; the first place to look for muscle car rims (but not in this case). Settling on this clean 5 spoke design which sort of mimics a snakes belly, they just looked right. 20 vinyl layers have been used and 12 decal layers in the layout. This car currently has lvl3 brakes and suspension only for show purposes, but more work will be done after building a grip monster. The M3 is great, but there's much faster. I will be using this for drift... I have a newer 'stang and an infinity for drag, and speed or grip? nah. This handles surprisingly well, and has a good amount of torque... compared to an AE86. Good luck in the dual, baumaxx.Btw, now that I look at it a bit more, I don't like the house here. That just feels... cheep.

Yeah... I wanted a big cactus, but that would take 4 layers rather than 2.@ Sizzle: It would fit if it's a mustang cobra, which was the next model up from this. I'm just pretending.

I must say I was dissapointed in the final tally in our dual. I was hoping for a more competetive dual. Ah well, the better car won anyways. Grats.

Uhh... I love the side vinyls very much. The mustang GT is the best choise to this theme. Well done!
