In the News
Last week we announced a new Showroom Challenge, called Graffiti Challenge, what's this about? Well, hold on we're short explaining what's this about. All you had to do, is make a car that represents the streets, urban culture, all sorts of graffiti were accepted. Unfortunately the Entry registration has stopped, but hey, you can vote now. There are lots of entries this time, around 35+ cars. Every vote counts, so be sure to vote fairly and choose your favorite. Be sure to check the Challenges Zone, for further information and to take the Voting Tour.
In the Spotlight
Old school by S@Mo™

The AE86 is a hero car. Famous for it's David vs. Goliath performances in drifting competitions and in the anime "Initial D", and piloted by the drift king himself, "Keiichi Tsuchiya", it has a huge following and is a classic of the Japanese tuning scene. S@Mo's "Old School" AE86 is a prime example of this automotive icon modified very professionally in a drift style.
The visual package is very eye-catching; the car sporting a bright red base duco. This colour ensures that the car is the centre of attention when it's in action, but to really give it that professional touch, unique coral highlights flank the side and are accentuated with silver tear vinyl borders. The decals have been placed neatly; the layout also featuring a drift inspired decal box to make it look even more authentic. The finishing touch is the major sponsor vinyl, making it look absolutely authentic. The major sponsor decal is a work of art, and something tuners can take note of; it being made up of multiple vinyl layers featuring not only the decal, but a shadow and a shruiken to make it look exciting.
The body kit is pretty much standard apart from usual the black racing style hood and Carbon fibre wing, keeping the car's classic shape. The rim choice is a an aggressive set of Volk Racing rims coated in black, suiting the car's race style and complementing the colour scheme to a tee.
Although the car may seem like just an "Old Bomb" or and econo-box, examples like this prove that it can still mix it with the latest and greatest not only in drift events, but it can be an ultra cool addition to the Showroom too.
Formula D Promo Car by McW@y

Yep, this is three in a row for McW@y… on the same week that S@Mo is featured for his third time too. His rides are always imaginative and detailed, and this stunning drift-style Skyline is no different.
The concept is a promo car for formula drift, hence the colour combo and vinyl layout. Attempting to create a custom decal not featured in the game can be extremely difficult, especially when trying to emulate a real logo. However, McW@y had no trouble with this at all; flawlessly recreating the formula drift vinyl down to the very finest detail. The grease marks and tyre mark gradient capping off the "T" simply makes my jaw drop. Looking closely, you could believe it was airbrushed. Nismo-style vinyls top off the vinyl layout, and fill in the blanks nicely, topping off a stunning graphics package. The decals are colour coded and are placed perfectly, looking stunning when combined with the vinyl layout.
The bodywork is an evolution over revolution approach, with a Z-tune style body kit fitted. It's a simply stunning body kit, and just oozes aggression… the designers that worked on the R34 definitely got the body spot on! A large GT wing has been fitted to increase down force, important for drift cars, at the same time giving it a very dominating stance.
The rim choice is one of the most crucial aspects of modifying a car. There's a saying that rims "make or break a ride", and this rim choice is spot on, with super aggressive 10 spokes tucked under each wheel arch. Although Gold may seem odd, as the colour scheme features no gold whatsoever, they look simply stunning… just try and imagine, black, white, red or silver under there; although those colours keep with the colour scheme, they just wouldn't have the same impact as silver.
McW@y has impressed yet again with this incredible GT-R, showing off the drift style perfectly. This car displays an incredibly high standard of work; one so high that you could be forgiven for thinking this was a real car.
Creativity Competitions
A new week, that means new competitions, we have them, ready for you. Starting with the Signature Competition, we announce that "Favorite Candy bar" winner is Porsche-AG, with his Lindt MSPaint made signature.

Next comp is up, this time around, the theme is "Favorite City", check the thread for the info and impress everyone with the sig and the place you would like to be. Good luck!
The Chop Competition we announced last week is delayed, which is better, if you haven't got any time to prepare anything, this is your chance, there are only few entries, so chop that car better than anyone else! Careful though, there isn't a delay date yet, so better hurry up.Chop Competition
Good execution is important, but a little personality and good choice of parts, colours and vinyls to create a head turner is higher up in the list.

question- just curious, but what determines a car which is fit for the Showroom Weekly? is it the "professional" factor or its creativity in general? =S

If we like what we see, it'll make it in.Good execution is important, but a little personality and good choice of parts, colours and vinyls to create a head turner is higher up in the list.
