So, how was your April's Fools day? Got fooled, you fooled someone on your own? Oh, one thing, if you didn't know, Lego hasn't and won't make any collaboration with EA, Bojan took care of this joke, pretty neat, isn't it?
Looks like we reached #13, let's see if this number will get any bad luck or trouble.
No time to chit-chat, we got work to do, we didn't post the previous SRW and we already have some news for you, so we better get to work, since lots of reading will occur.
Race Days
Last time we announce that some preparations are made for a new Race Day, well, it wasn't just a rumor, so here it is: Noisebomb Spring Challenge Raceday Online. Noisebomb is the host for this Racing Org, if you want your place secured in this challenge, you'd better visit EA Racedays, to register and get yourself the invitation in the game's inbox. We wish you good luck and hope that nfsunlimited.net users are in tops!
In the News
Lately every news circles around the Showroom Challenges, so why would we stop now, when we just got warmed up? Last Challenge is over - Grafitti Challenge - and the winner is Reemus with his Haloween Impreza. We congratulate him for making such a ride. On the 2nd place, close with 1 point, was spike_maddog's Good Hood and 3rd, away by 10 points was tb3nz's -AerosoL AddicT-. Congrats guys, choosing this time, wasn't such an easy thing, what we've noticed is that different from the previous challenges, this one raised lots of interest and brought a lot more entries, in which case, the SRC board is considering that real prize should be offered, so for the future Challenges the winner will be rewarded with real prizes. How about that! Looks like creating rides isn't pointless afterall, let's see who has the greatest skills! Stay close, this Wednesday, the next Challenge will be announced.

Team 5ZIGEN's GT-R by McW@y

It's no easy task to replicate a real car in-game, especially with layer limits, and it requires a great deal of patience. However, McW@y has managed to make this magazine; "McW@y weekly" with his stunning and genuine looking 5Zigen R35 GT-R adaptation.
Although the original base car was a 350Z, he has managed to adapt the vinyl layout to the latest GT-R, making it seem like a genuine 5Zigen demo car. In fact, looking at the front view of the original car 5Zigen 350Z; the body, hood and vinyl work are all spot on and both cars are near identical, where the GT-R body kit is actually closer to the original car than the 350Z kits. The vinyl layouts are much the same too, with only the decal placement and tone work being adapted to the different body. Finally, 5Zigen racing style rims top off the package. Although the original features a mesh design, using the brand-name part makes the replica seem more genuine.
McW@y has once again shown us how replicas are done with his second in the spotlight. His latest ride sets a high standard for replicas, and displays the attention to detail needed to successfully create a realistic one.
Rabbit AE86 by deafwish

Yes, I do bang on about neatness, consistency and execution a lot, but sometimes a bit of creativity can be more impressive, as this AE86 from deafwish shows. It is definitely something completely different, and a very personal style.
Now, this car may not feature perfect decal placement and execution (it's not bad though), it has something more important; character, and this can make a bigger impact. The vinyl layout is built around the winged white rabbit on this ride; something quite quirky and unique. I admit, the name and the thumbnail didn't excite me at all when I first saw it, and not being a fan of character vinyls I was wondering why this was recommended as a spotlight candidate. One look at the full view changed that however… that was one awesome looking rabbit! Deafwish had managed to use an animal vinyl perfectly without making the car look childish. Behind it is a vivid custom two-tone vinyl to complete the quirky, underground-style vinyls, and to provide a contrast to the flat grey base.
Now that the vinyl layout screamed for attention, the body had to support the look, so a crazy widebody kit was entrusted with the task of fattening the little hatch and giving it big presence. Simple, but sporty rims are a safe choice, and their solid design looks good tucked under those fattened guards. The wild body combined with the very extroverted paint job add up to one very likeable AE86.
Creativity Competitions
"Favorite City" signature competition is still on a roll, if you haven't got time, or didn't knew about this, you still have some time left to enter the competition. Be aware, some very good entries showed up, be sure to check the thread so you know your competition, now get to work and impress everybody with your favorite location.
In the other side, that would be auto virtual tuning, the Audi Chop Competition is over, although the Poll is up and running, if you saw anything you like, go there and vote by your likings. It's sad that only 3 entries are available, we hope this competition hasn't lost it's interest and it's just a matter of car choosing. It won't pass much time and a new Chop competition will be up, so prepare your tuning tools!
We proudly announce a new competition in our Creativity Competition section, which is "Cover Art Competition", what's this about? well, in short terms, there's a game cover template that you have to fill with your gaming imagination, for a future game release. This week's theme is Midnight Club: Los Angeles. More information about the competition and rules, you find in the Creativity Board.
