In the Spotlight
Eclipse by letec_de[haluz]

The first of two stunning Mitsubishi Eclipses featured is a long time favourite of mine. It may no longer be recent, but the artwork is just stunning, and so unique. In fact, I suggested this as a feature car when I wrote my first article, and it still impresses me like it did that first time I saw it.
The show car style paint job is simply stunning; it is definitely a rarity in the showroom making this car all the more unique. Its simple stripe layout is very striking and a departure from the regular show-style tribals, and features yellow ninja stars dotted around the layout as an added detail to liven the flat black and white colour combo up. The very well thought out layout makes this car just as stunning as the more wild and extroverted show cars you may find. The light decal work is faultless, and the "Kobel/stone" decal has been integrated into the vinyl layout flawlessly.
The rest of the ride is rather an evolution over revolution approach, with enhanced stock bodywork and simple black-coated rims to match the vinyl design. These simple touches combined with the beautiful vinyl work make sure this ride won't be "eclipsed" any time soon.
Sunshine by korbandallas

The second Eclipse is a very different beast, taking on a much more race-inspired look. The body is certainly more aggressive, being more heavily autosculpted and featuring a larger wing and a roof scoop.
Complementing the race inspired body kit is a vinyl layout that is a blend of show and race styles. It is quite unusual to see, but the two styles have fused together well in this case. A vivid yellow two-tone, with some nice gold touches, contrasts the flat black base nicely. On top of the show-worthy paint job is a fair amount of decal work placed quite neatly around the two-tone. The centerpiece of the layout is the dominating Greddy decal, a good example of how to use vinyls to spice up a rather plain decal. The integration of Greddy into the layout is flawless, and is an exciting touch found on many race style cars in real life.
Topping off the ride is a great choice of rims. More often than not, I don't like the way this particular set looks. However, the rims complement the blend of styles found on this ride, and look mean coated in metallic black. Their detailed, classy look fits the show aspect of this ride, but they have the aggression of a race rim, which complements the race inspired decal work. Although this Eclipse may be very different to Letec's example, it displays a high level of detail and would definitely make it hard voting if both cars were to duel.
Creativity Competitions
First off, is the Signature competition. As we already announced, the running competition is "Favorite City", the entry signup has closed, but you can now vote. There are very nice entries so take your time and vote for the best out there. Check the Poll thread.
Second on the roll is the Chop competition, which has finally ended, why am I saying this? Because it was the most pathetic chop competition, with only 3 entries. The winner is Danyutz. A new competition is running, this time a more challenging one, the car is the Volkswagen Scirocco, we hope that this car will draw enough attention and some chopping skills will get to surface. Go download the car and get to work, the Volkswagen isn't an easy job. Good luck!
Last time we announced a new competition, the Cover Art Competition. Midnight Club: Los Angeles is still running, so you still got a chance to post your creative work. The Competition will end soon, at least it has some real nice entries so far. Let's see how this thing gets!
