Race days
Finally the Energizer Lithium Race Day has been announced and ... already passed. The event was running for 2 days 2-4th of May. If you didn't get a chance to participate, take a look at the results - EA is lazy and posted only the X360 winner, which is NY xxTERRORxx. Congrats.
A new race is on the move, ISRC(International Street Racing Community) - Porsche 911 Showdown which started on 9/05/2008 and will end on 01/06/2008, a long time showdown, so secure your place in there. Follow the link to the Race day, register, join and check your ingame inbox. Good luck.
News
First of all, we wish NFSUnlimited.net a Happy Birthday, on the 8th of this month it turned 8 years old. With this celebration, Bojan, as a present, gave the site new themes, which you can see and change from your user control panel.
Moving on, the Showroom challenge, after a short 1 week break, has returned with a new theme which this time is "Camouflage". Anything stealthy, military is good enough, but for more information, you should check Showroom Challenge Zone. There is a demo car as well. Good luck.
In the Spotlight
Well, we are back after a bit of a delay and the big long list of potential feature cars has grown. After much scouting of the showroom, three unique rides have been picked which represent a wide array of styles.
G35 by Masaru

First up we have the Import Tuner style well represented by this vivid G35. Quite an unusual, but stunning colour combo has been used to make the car stand out; featuring a very rich orange base, with a flat grey two tone. The orange tones work well to make the car's lines stand out, and the grey tones create nice flat areas to work on. The vinyl work is quite tidy and introverted compared to some layouts, but it still looks the part complementing the neat decal work well. Auto vinyls are never easy to work with, but Masaru has used the turbocharger very well, and it really looks classy in the layout. This ride just goes to show how clean work can turn out to be very eye-catching.
-The Effect - by - Rx7 -

Well... doesn't this one break a few rules? Taking the most successful drift car of all time and a very versatile race car in fact, and putting bling wheels on it, lowering it, and turning it into a show car all seems like "ricing" it up. However, this ride, displaying an Australian style of show tuning which is familiar to me, just goes to show how classy and very unique a "pimped" sports car can actually look.
Typical of the rides that cruise around at night, -Rx7- has slapped on a low neat kit, removed the spoiler and dropped it over some "blingin'" deep dish rims to give it a sleeker stance. Rolling out of the spray booth with the luxurious black hue, it was looking pretty sleek and tough, but among the thousands of rides in the showroom, it needed something extra to be noticed. Straying away from the busy, vinyl-heavy look or cliche hot-rod flames, -Rx7- opted to give the car a truly unique paintjob; the blue digital graphic pattern. Sometimes less is more, and this sleek street/show car is a shining example of how versatile tuning is.
APR Tuned = Red Star Drifter by angelix000000

Topping off this issue's spotlight is a feminine influence. The vinyl layout is quite cute, featuring cartoon stars and tribals to complement them and a nice touch is how the stars have been used as a transition from the pink front end to the black side and rear. The vinyl layout is garnished with a few neatly placed decals, and the centerpiece being the obligatory major sponsor's decal; which is APR in this case. However, care has been taken to ensure the decal complements the vinyl layout, and the APR decal has been finished in the same cartoon fashion as the rest of the vinyls. The colour combo is the usual black and white with another colour, pink being used. However, using black as the base and white for the highlights gives the car a more aggressive aura. Now, as a drifter, the car can't look too cute, so an aggressive body kit, huge wing, and some race rims with an aggressive offset show this car means business and complete a wild package.
Creativity Competitions
The Signature competition, one that runs well, has a new theme - "Horror/Scary", as proposed by korge, the winner of the previous competition "Fav mode of transportation"
.
If you want to participate, think of something scary, which involves blood, knives, darkness, or w/ever might scare you. For more information, check the Signature thread.
The Chop competition... now this one is not running so smoothly. The VW Iroc didn't appeal to anyone, so it looks like a new car should be posted, if not, the competition is dead. What do you think? A change should do it?
The Cover Art Competition; a theme is ending and new one is beginning. The previous theme, Test Drive Unlimited 2, was won by Danyutz, who posted a new game, Racedriver: Grid. Get up there, choose your favorite cover template and make your own game cover design. Good luck!
yay! thanks so much! this is a great birthday gift to me
yay
im so happy
happy bday to nfsunlimited ;D
