Race Days
A new week, that means a new weekly, we came back with fresh news, cars and competitions. Enough chit-chat, let's get on to with information about running or upcoming race days.
Last week we announced some Porsche race day, well, it's still on, the full name is ISRC Porsche 911 Showdown, sponsored by International Street Racing Community. You have few days to join, the registration lasts until 6/1/2008. Go in there, register your name and wait for your invite to arrive in your in-game mailbox. We wish you a good luck.
In the News
Just in case you missed the last NFS: ProStreet documentary - Birth of ProStreet, which is about drag races and presents the car of Christian Rado, a Scion tC which develops up to 500 horsepower. View the clip.
News about Showroom Challenge. As you probably know, "Camouflage" is this week's theme, entry registration has closed on Saturday, with a good number of 15 entries. You can see the entries here, in the Challenge area also take the Voting Tour.
Showroom Future

Videos in the showroom? A few years ago that would seem impossible, but today it's reality. The showroom will support videos and it will happen sooner than you might think. Uploading through NFSUnlimited.net, video hosting on YouTube and additional categories for fastest runs, crashes, tricks and more. A test entry is already available here. Leave your comments and suggestions there, everything will be greatly appreciated.

Red GT-R by Jaster_Mereel

We'll start this issue off with something a little different, and a bit of a shock pick in the face of so many highly fettled rides. It's not always the number of vinyl layers that's important, but it's the way you use them. Jaster Mereel has brought some restraint to the showroom with this simple, very underground looking R35. Instead of a very complex vinyl layout, this car makes do with what appears to be at most three vinyl layers. However, the vinyls do follow the car's lines well, and complement it. The body is also largely standard, with only a more aggressive hood and spoiler, and some lighter, racing rims replacing the standard items. In the end, a sporty and clean look has been achieved, one which looks half decent. It may not be the easiest approach, but when done well it can stand out.
Rally evo X by T0MMY

Rally, often overlooked for more popular forms of motorsport such as circuit racing and drift, gets two mentions this issue. The first rally inspired car is this interpretation of the next gen Evo. The body is largely unmodified as usual with rally cars, but with the addition of a roof scoop and the classic rally wing. Both additions suit the look to a tee, and work very well on this style of car. The rims, a rare choice for track racers, are a classic rally rim and look the part on this car. The vinylwork is quite simple, like on the Tommi Makkinen Edition Lancers, but effective and quite professional looking. It's a little different from your regular Evos in the showroom, but a worthy homage to the Evo's beginnings as a rally monster.
Focus WRC '06 by McW@y

Well, the second rally car is another of McW@y's creations... and yet again he shows us how to do as good replicas as the game allows. Just take a look at the pictures McW@y's Side vs. The Real Deal's Side and Mc W@y's Front vs. Real Deal's Front. Not much else to say as the pictures say enough. Well, I think this pretty much secures your place in history McW@y... 9th feature. Congrats.
Creativity Competitions
"Make something Scary" signature competition is still up, you can still submit your entry if you have any ideas. Looks like peeps don't like the theme too much, they don't crowd the topic with entries. For more info, check the Signature Competition thread.
Chop Competition is down for good, if anyone is kind enough to post a new car, we would appreciate it, for the virtual tuning's sake, change the car! Thank you.
Cover Art is still on the move, entry registration has closed, voting time now. Go in the Creativity Board, search for the cover art topic and make your vote count, there's no need to be picky, since only 3 entries are posted. Stand by for a new theme.

Great cars, although the window tint on McW@y's Focus is unneeded.
