Community Tuning Challenge
Showroom Weekly group leader, ahmad0410, kindly took over from baumaxx1 who cannot run this challenge due to exams, and kept the challenge running on schedule. The theme this time around was "Wide Load", which meant tuners had to use a widebody kit on their cars and make good use of it; quite a challenge considering that some kits may be harder to work with then others, but generally the more unique choices stood out.
The winner was long-time Underground 2 veteran, werner414, on 415 points with his entry, "Batousai Armageddon". The extreme kit choice combined with the war-like cartoon graphics stood out above the other entries and afforded him a comfortable lead.

Nasko took a more performance oriented approach with his entry, "Fat G", with an ultra tough widebody kit fitted, a race wing, carbon hood, and ultra deep race wheels. Japanese tuner style graphics top off the hardcore track car look. The result was a respectable second place on 403 points.

Moe -Z-'s flashy, and modern show car, -Z- line, showcased a rather artistic body kit, unlike the rest of the top 5, and its bright colour scheme helped it secure a podium position on a very close 397 points, just 2 points ahead of another 350Z and his -ATC- team-mate, |Super GT|.

The full list of competitors and scores can be found at the competition page.
The next challenge, CTC8, will be for the game Need for Speed Prostreet, and the theme will be "Exotica Challenge", which involves tuning a supercar! It may sound nice and simple, but these car's unique lines and very wild appearance will make it a challenge to create something that is sleek and will stand out. Entry will open on the 11th of November and it will be open for 5 days; so you might want to mark that date on your calendar!
In the Spotlight
This week we feature two quite unusual cars; a drifter kitted out from head to toe in high performance parts and race graphics, and a very lively 350Z.
FalkenTire S15-D by J-J Studios

This is one interesting drift car, looking like an import tuner show car with its intricate graphics, rather subtle major sponsor, and sleek paint finish, but the rest of it hints at being a brutal slider. The first thing you'd notice about the car is the absolutely monstrous bodykit, complete with a Super GT style rear diffuser, and the equally tough rim choice; where the thick rims protrude from the already wide guards! To make sure this brilliant bodywork doesn't go unnoticed, the car has been coated in a very unique copper colour.
The three tone graphics complement the body nicely, and the black top and white rear end have been integrated nicely with smart use of the car's lines and vinyls. Very spiky custom graphics spice the look of the car up, and the execution is very neat overall, and adds to the car's high performance look, but gives it some bling. The decals are well placed overall, and finish off the graphic layout, and top off one sleek Silvia.

This week, we've combined a car and its presentation into one article, as both are equally impressive. First, we'll start with the ride. It is hardly anything that is a cliche, as it has been modified quite radically, altering everything from the bodykit the game offered, the headlights, and is topped off with one of the freshest paintjobs seen in the showroom. The front bar intake has been extensively widened, and the kit coated in a plain white, to emphasise the car's features, and give it a wider appearance and much more aggressive look. The sharpened headlights are another nice touch that really fit in well with the bodywork. The mega tough and deep dish rims also work with the body, being a perfect match and give the car an ultra tough stance. A camouflage paint job, featuring four very unique orange tones, gives the car the necessary visual punch to stand out and maximises the bodywork's impact. Some abstract graphics and a contrasting black two tone along with the white kit complete the visual package, and give the car a very unique personality, and a very warm and lively vibe.

This stunning car has been featured in a very stunning presentation, which showcases some incredible light effects and blending. Lighting is not easy to get right in a presentation, but here it is absolutely stunning, with the back end of the car being engulfed in shadows, with only a slight glow from the tail lights lighting up the rear bar and surroundings, but it looks quite plausible.
On the side of the car, the light bursts through the window and lights up the side of the car with a very strong and warm glow, mimicking the stunning lighting in higher end games such as Oblivion and Crysis. It creates a very mystical and warm look, quite appropriate to the title of the presentation. A final small touch in this presentation is the use of R35 GTR exhausts on the Zed, showing good attention to detail, and making the presentation and car that little bit more unique than they already are.

Great picks. I'm not keen on the S15, but that's just me. Post comment
