dont use the vacuum, i did this and wrecked my fan, use a small paint brush, with no paint on it obviously, and brush the dust up and collect it with the vacuum extension, dont go hell mell at it with the vacuum itself. it takes a fair few minutes but it works, either that or take your pc to pieces ...
