Are we talking car audio, or computer/home entertainment audio? If car, (and I'm presuming you have a full setup,) plug the sub into the door speakers' amp. If you don't have one, try plugging it into your headunit. If it's powerful enough, it should at least tell you if it's the speaker on the amp....
