Fixed one problem...got a new one

I finally got NFS 5 working on my computer. Now there is a new problem. I have beaten the game up to the point where you buy the 78 911 Turbo 3.3 coupe. After I buy and get into the car.....and try to do anything in the game (i.e. buy parts for the car, change tournaments, anything), my system locks hard. I have to restart. Any tips...hopefully this is a common glitch.
