Possible solution stuttering gameplay Nfs PU under XP

Post by novatekk »

I've seen a lot of people with decent pc's still experiencing choppy gameplay in Nfs Porsche.
In order to get smooth gameplay try doing the following.

1. Make sure the game is installed on the same drive you got Windows installed on

2. Rename the gimme.dll file to gimme.dl (no need to delete the file)

3. Make sure you run the game in win98/me compatibility mode

I experienced the same choppy gameplay everytime i played the game from my other harddrive but when i played the game from my cdrom (downloaded version) it ran great. So i figured it had something to do with my harddrive. I copied the game to my C drive (same as windows) and the game ran fine.

Hope this helps some people out.

I did just renage the gimme.dll, without changing to compatibility mode, and everithing worked O.K. for me.

Hey Koffy, you may be on to something...is it possible that the renaming of the gimme.dll file fixes up the previous problem of compatability issues???

Thanks Nitro for the link. New ppl tend to open discussion previously talked about as a new topic as they are unsure where to post. Maybe we need a new topic on where to post so double ups on topics are avoided..
