SHORT ANSWER - no

LONG ANSWER - keyboard or joystick/wheel. If it's keyboard I say get used to the defaults, they're not that bad when u get used to them

Hmm, maybe after you've finalised your setup, try saving the savegame manually? Go to Career > Save.

Reinstallation, maybe? That's the last resort.

I hope you have not been quitting Carbon through ALT + F4. If you have done so, that's what you'll get.

Just do a back-up for your savegame before re-installing. This can be done through My Documents > NFS Carbon.

Do you use Vista?

I had the same problem for keyboard when I used Vista, but worked perfectly when I changed to xp.

PS: Defualt keyboard controls suck

PPS: Sucks that you can't change the key for looking behind (L). <_<
