What monitor do you have?

Post by Stereo »

Currently I have a Dell 1905FP, but tomorrow I'm getting my Acer P241WAD. It's a 24" widescreen. I can't wait, since I can hook up my PS3 to it using an HDMI cable (it has an HDMI input) I'm getting it for $320 at Staples. Woohooo. :D

Still using a CRT myself, since I really can't afford to shell out big bucks for a 24"- or bigger LCD that could match the performance of my current display (would have to be MVA or S-IPS panel, which cost a LOT at that size), which is:

Viewsonic G220F Graphics Series (21" CRT)

I have a 17" CRT+my TV, kinda nice but kinda blows for gaming because of the huge gap between screens

Another one for the Samsung camp, I have a 19" 953BW.

I was disappointed with the contrast after having a CRT, but it's alright once you get used to it.

June 12nd 2000.

But if I remember correctly, and I think I do, I've paid like 1k for it back in 2004 when I got rid of an old and big CRT.

Great monitor, saw it at a store here.

Too expensive though, 3999 LE (around 740 $) here.

Dell's having a 48-hour blowout on refurbished monitors on the Dell Outlet. (Atleast they were last night, but the forum was still down, so I'm not sure now.)

Anyway, I ordered a 22" DELL SP2208WFP Widescreen Flat Panel. I'm hoping to order a 17" or 19" soon for a dual screen setup, but I'm not in much of a hurry. Still, no more gaming on a 15" for me! \:D/

Image

I especially like it's HDMI, so I can hook up a 360 if (when) I get one. It also has 4 USB ports, although the main thing that turned me onto it vs. the E228WFP was the 2ms response time, for gaming. :D

(Okay, yeah, I'm bragging again... but I got a great deal on it.)

Yup, only paid about $200 for it... not much less than the normal outlet prices, but still enough to make me jump on it since I've been looking at upgrades for a few months now.

I'm still iffy on Dell's refurbished products, but I guess I'll find out on 'em.

BenQ FP71G and Acer AL1714. Both 17'', both rather outdated.

How well do dual-screen setups work for gaming? The only time I've really used one was when my desktop was broken for 2-3 weeks and I was playing Halo on my laptop with it's monitor...

Dual-screen isn't for games. That would be retarded.

Okay, the point isn't even for gaming. Unless of course you do like I've done before and have the game open on one screen, and iTunes in the other. It's mainly for things like watching TV while typing a paper for school in the other, or displaying your homework in one and working on the other... it can help alot when it comes to documents, particularly the Science Fair. That and it just looks plain ill, not to mention the little bit I used a dual-screen setup, I loved it to death.

Why are you explaining it to me? I know what dual-screens are for; I used to have them on my old PC.

A tri-screen setup can be used for games, but you need homebrew software and it will only work with certain games.
