It's an econobox that shouldn't have money spent past what it needs to keep it running.

Unless you can get the AWD Turbo model (whatever it's called, it's the one in the picture), it's not really worth doing much to. If you're looking for something to tune, there are many far better cars to start off with.

its best if you buy the car, add large mufflers, paint it in Harlequin paints, add rims (spinners if you're cool) deck it out with a large bodykit and a large aluminium spoiler.

LOL^^^ i can image how dumb that would look (no offence to u) but my dad had a 4 door 323 back in the days(2002). it was a sport model so guess it was just that little bit 'sporty'..came with factory b.kit and mags. it could rev its heart out, but dont expect a deep rumble from the xhausts  tunability?....i dunno..depends i guess, gr8 for basic modding, but if u want 2 go hard core, there are better cars :)

A mazda 323 is a Ford Escort, because mazda isa ford vehicle. Some people tune escorts. Here in USA, the Escort was replaced by thr Focus, which is similar to the Escort, but better handling.

cool i'll visit those websites yoku guys found. BTW the only reason i ask is because my freind is selling one for like 500 dollars, the things a piece of crap, but it's a manuel and i figured if it's good for tuning than i'd like to fix it up. either i get that or i get my families stupid automatic camry :( also i forget the exact year, but it's i think late 80's. i'm not really sure and i probably won't get it, but i was just wondering.

If it's a manual for $500 that runs then I'd nab it and just drive it until it dies or you get something better.

dude... the focus is nothing like the escort.. they have 3 things incommon...1: both are fords, 2: they belong to the same class and 3: neither of them has any soundkilling materials (i dont know what they are called in english, but my ears hurt after i sat in my friends focus for an hour, and i have sitten in an escort and it was almost worse)

Astina?

I thought the older 323F model was called Astina, the purple one above is called Lantis.

that is the biggest BS I ever heard....

that a company is a part of a other company does NOT mean it is the SAME!
Aston Martin is also owned by Ford so is Jaguar and Volvo... does this mean that a Aston Martin DB9 is infact a Mustang... (Ford wishes they could build something like that  )
and a Volvo V70 is a the same car as a Crown vic eh???

The Focus did come in the place of the Escort... but it has NOTHING to do with a mazda...

think before you type complete BS

Actually Stig, many cars in the Ford stable use the same platforms

I'm not sure about the Mazda 3, but what he is saying is not total BS.

yes stig is right but the mazda 3, the volvo s40(the new one) and the new focus are built on the same platform... but then again i dont think theres a single "normal car" in the world that doesn't share the same platform with another car
