NFSMW Soundtrack

Post by Bojan »

From EA's official press releasE:

Electronic Arts today revealed an in-game soundtrack that will get gamers’ hearts thumping as they race their way to the top of the Blacklist to become the most notorious street racer in Need for Speed™ Most Wanted. In addition to hot tracks from T.I. Presents The P$C, Jamiroquai, and Disturbed, composer Paul Linford will bring a Hollywood-caliber score to the game. Linford has composed music for such popular films as Bad Boys II, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Coach Carter, Enemy of the State and Con Air among other blockbusters.

Unlike most racing games, the score in Need for Speed Most Wanted is fully interactive. Custom-designed to adapt to the players’ every move, the music highlights the intensity of the chase, telling you when you're about to get away... or about to get busted.

“Need for Speed Most Wanted blends an original score with licensed tracks to deliver a truly customized soundtrack that perfectly complements the in-game action at every turn,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA.

The complete licensed song list includes:

ARTIST - SONG
Avenged Sevenfold - Blinded In Chains
Bullet For My Valentine - Hand Of Blood
Celldweller feat. Styles Of Beyond - Shapeshifter
Celldweller - One Good Reason
Dieselboy + Kaos - Barrier Break
Disturbed - Decadence
DJ Spooky And Dave Lombardo - B-Side Wins Again feat. Chuck D
Evol Intent, Mayhem & Thinktank - Broken Sword
Hush - Fired Up
Hyper - We Control
Ils - Feed The Addiction
Jamiroquai - Feels Just Like It Should (Timo Maas Remix)
Juvenile - Sets Go Up
Lupe Fiasco - Tilted
Mastodon - Blood And Thunder
Rock - I Am Rock
Static-X - Skinnyman
Stratus - You Must Follow (Evol Intent VIP)
Styles Of Beyond - Nine Thou (Superstars Remix)
Suni Clay - In A Hood Near You
T.I. Presents The P$C - Do Ya Thang
The Perceptionists - Let’s Move
The Prodigy - You’ll Be Under My Wheels
The Roots And BT - Tao Of The Machine (Scott Humphrey’s Remix)

From the makers of the hit Need for Speedâ„¢ Underground series, Need for Speed Most Wanted challenges players to become the most notorious street racer. Combining illicit street racing and tuner customization with the intensity of strategic police pursuit, Need for Speed Most Wanted is sure to be on every gamer's holiday gift list.

The in-game music soundtrack is a part of the EA™ TRAX music initiative that EA debuted in 2001. The program is dedicated to bringing gamers the hottest music through EA’s videogames.

l can already tell the music is going to be similar to underground, partially punk rock, alternative, heavy and a little too much rap+hip hop

And lame... Time to once again, turn the music off and run Windows Media Player in the background.

Not really. Rap is mainly putting words to syllables and rhythms while R&B has singing in it. However, they are quite similar as they do cross over sometimes and they have the same basic background music.

WoW! It sounds good! 8)

BTW, maybe many people know it, maybe not, that this is the intro music:
DJ Spooky And Dave Lombardo - B-Side Wins Again feat. Chuck D
You know, when you connected to needforspeed.com the track which is played is the B-Side wins again

From what I heard in the demo and what I know from the list there ar some good songs.

I'm not a big fan of Hip-hop... but it doesn't bother me really.

Got that right! :D only problem with that is that if the game is taking up a lot of your processing speed and you have another application on, the game may run slowly :(

i wanted System of a Down, but seems EA isn't interested with political and real facts of life...damn!...just commercial music.....but that's ok because they are giving the opportunity to other bands to be famous in game world.

The sountrack is pretty good, there should be something for everyone except jazz and classical aficionados. I'm glad the NFS series hasn't COMPLETELY succumbed to trends and fallen to terrible rap music. I vomited when I heard "lean back" in NFSU2. Snoop's remix of Riders in the Storm, however, was a pleasant surprise.

Avenged Sevenfold and Mastodon instantly made my day, albeit being odd choices. Both hard rock (and Mastodon is straight up heavy metal). Still there's plenty of variety. Unless you're a single-genre whore you shouldn't find this soundtrack offensive or horrible.

It's not the same thing, far from it...

Rap = 2Pac, Coolio
Hip Hop = Sly Boogy ( :x )

You'll know the difference.

Good soundtrack, The Prodigy is a great addition!

I disagree, I still say its the same stuff. Anyway as with the other NFS games the ghetto music gets turned off. :D

Anyways,

The people that say that Rap and HipHop are the same thing are usually the people who dont even listen to rap or hiphop on a regular basis.. In fact, most of the people who say that probobly dislike the music completely.
