i know that , but what game now and 5 ,10,15 years from now could possibly require 2 GB worth of gfx card power :? when we are still at the point where a 64 mb gfx cars is still good enough to run most games

Methinks you'll be eating those words sooner than you expect.

Sure it'll seem useless if you're going to play games at a low resolution like 1024x768 (I can't exactly talk as my monitor's max resolution is a mere 1024x768) but when it comes down to higher resolutions like 1280+ with 4x AA and 16x AF then it becomes pretty damn useful having that amount of graphically power to maintain a decent and smooth framerate.

Here's the preview of the X1950XTX going up against the 7950 GX-2 (and the 7900GT, 7600GT) in Half Life 2: Episode One, this is just using 'one' video card.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/375/14/

Now then, here's firingsquad's review of CF X1950XTX v SLI 7950 GX-2 (including CF X1900XTX and SLI 7900GTX).
http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/ati ... rformance/

What I am here for however (after that little bit of information that is :p) is a small decision that I can't choose between. This is going to be part of a small upgrade package for my other computer which will soon become my primary computer when we move, so I want to ditch the lame 9200SE for something that will allow me to have at least some eye candy while playing games.

AGP only... unfortunately

Xpertvision X800GTO (apparently these can be flashed to near X850 spec, correct me if I'm wrong), Xpertvision X800XL, XFX 7600GS, XFX 6800XT 256 or Palit 6800GS Super.

Graphics cards are quite temperature sensitive.

And the 6600 uses a COMPLETELY different core compared to the 5200 and 5500. When one chip does 50MHz on top of stock, it doesn't mean the other does the same.

Is there any difference between the EVGA 7900 GTX and the XFX 7900 GTX..
apart from the over clocking ability on the XFX chipsets...

Cuz I checked ...and found that the normal XFX 7900 GTX runs at basic speed
as the evga counterpart...And Im NOT talking about the xxx extreme edition

Every nVidia card can overclock. Most of the cards are the same, maybe a different PCB color.

Differences can be the included hardware and software, warranty, those kinds of things.

Owh..! Thanx dude...So the main reason
for price difference is the warranty and the games....and also the
brand name...

Yes.
How well known a brand is, what the warranty is and what comes bundled with the card are that make the differences in price.
lol wut
