Well I'm now in the last stage and I just beat the GTO guy, then every special events disappeared.....:(
The game is over after I beated the GTO????

Correct, you have now completed the career mode. Anti-climactic, isn't it...

You can still do outruns, and via the carage world map browse for uncompleted races (if your percentage is not 100%).
