Carbon Demo Installation Issue

Post by JMooring »

After downloading the Carbon demo from two different sources and receiving the same error twice, I've decided to let you guys have a crack at it. Upon extracting the installation files and beginning the install process, just after I agree to the license agreement I am met with this error:
Installation cannot continue because this game requires DirectX 0 or higher to be installed on your system. You can download the latest version of DirectX here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx
At first, I obviously assumed that my DirectX was not up to date. So, after installing the included DirectX package as well as the one from the Microsoft website and restarting, I tried the installation again only to be greeted by the same error. At this point, I'm completely stumped. Has anyone else encountered this error?

I saw someone with that same problem on the EA forums,if you are using Windows XP try and set the setup file compatibility to Windows 2000 by right clicking it then compatibility tab seemed to work for them
