How much would you pay for my pc?

Post by blah2 »

I want to sell it. Here's the most important parts.

1GB RAM (2x 512 sticks Kingmax Semiconductor PC3200 DDR SDRAM. Data width: 64 bits, SDRAM width: 8x)
GForce 6800XT at 512
Intel P4 2.4 GHz
160 GB HDD (2x 80 GB)
MICRO-STAR INC. MS-6580 Motherboard
TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R1312 at 40x

Almost 2 years old.

My PC uses AGP 8x.

I want to sell it to about 500 $

Fixed some mistakes.

621$ is too much i would pay:
~65$ for the RAM (although i want to know which brand)
~90$ for the GFX Card (also want to know which brand)
~35$ for the CPU
~60$ for the HDD (also want to know which brand and if it's SATA or IDE)
~80$ for the Windows (even though I would pay less cuz it's Home Edition)

And I want to know all the things like motherboard and everything, if you want to sell it give us all the details.

Hmm, I'd give it at $400 maximum because of the 512MB GFX. Oh, and I think his GFX is nVidia. At least that's what I think, 'cuz it's a GeForce. I'll Google it. :)

Ummm... for starters there is no 6800 GTX, you only have the 6800LE, 6800XT, 6800, 6800GT, 6800 GTO, 6800 GS, and finally 6800 Ultra.

They're the only ones that I know of anyhow...

Also for how dated that system is you'd better give it a price of a mere 300 or 350, nobodies going to pay 600+ for old, out-dated, used hardware when they could easily pick up newer (and faster) hardware for even or less money.

You can get 2 GB of DDR2 these days for $60, an Sempron 3000+ for $35, decent motherboard for $70, 8500 GT (roughly equivalent to the 6800 XT) for $90, 160 GB HDD for $60, Windows for $90, DVD-ROM for $15, Case + PSU I assume are generic, so $40 ... Which works out to $460 for a system that's faster, more up-to-date, and with warranty ...

Given that the P4 2.4 is at least 2.5 years old, I'd say it's worth about $200 - $250 ... or, to someone who plays games, $0 because any new game requires a minimum 3 GHz or equivalent CPU ...

Hehe, how much would you pay for mine?

Mobo: ABIT AN8 32X
RAM: 2GB Kingston RAM PC3200 with Thermaltake cooling kit
GFX: XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900GS 256MB
HDD: 120GB Maxtor IDE drive + 250GB Seagate Barracuda SATA drive
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 4000 2.4GHz
Disc Drives: Samsung DVD Multi Recorder (all types) with LightScribe
PSU: Antec TruePower Trio 650W (NOT a case-supplied PSU)
Case: Antec P180B $130
Extras: Rosewill Multi-card reader with USB

I paid about $570 but that's with a TON of rebates and such. Alone it would cost $820 (newegg price)

like for example when we first got our old computer it had 40 GB HDD, that was hot stuff back then now like 6 or 7 years later we are seeing more and more HDD's with 1+ TB.
imagine if you wanted to upgrade your quad gpu's..... that would be well over 2K$. and btw there are a few computers out there that sell for 25K$ though 9K would get you one hell of a computer
