NFSPS: E3 Updates at Gamespot

Post by Skyline_man »

E3 started few hours ago, and we have the first NFSPS updates from Gamespot:

First, hands on the XBOX 360 version of the game:
When you select a race event, you’ll be taken to a sort of hub area where you’ll see a bunch of cars and people hanging out. In the case of the demo shown at E3, the area was a Nevada desert. You’ll be able to bring a limited number of cars to an event, and if you manage to beat your car up too badly, it’ll be totaled and you’ll have to retry the race. If you crash all of the cars you bring out to the race, you may have to begin the entire event again. This definitely seems like it’ll make the racing much more serious, as the consequences seem more serious. Car damage also appears to be a big part of the game, and the cars take damage procedurally, so if you smash up the sides of your car, they’ll have visible scrapes. Hoods, bumpers, and other parts can fly all the way off, and your car handling will be impacted if you take a bunch of damage.
Read the rest here.

Secondly, a 3 minutes of video footage from the game showing many different scenes, you can download it from here.

Finally, we have 2 new screenshots uploaded to our screenshots section.

Thats it for now.
Stay Tuned...

Yeah... Yeah.... Yeah.... every year is the same !!!! Dont get me wrong though ! All I am saing is that every year EA makes a NFS game and concentrates on just 1 thing and just misses the hole point of the game. A "car game" or a "car racing game" shoudnt be only about tuning ur ride, shoing off, make ur in game rep rise, or the arcade like behaviour of the car. It`s about the feeling of the car, the thrill of driving (even if it is only virtually) the most desireble cars in the world (Lamborghini, Pagani, Koeniggseg, ...), it shoud be a true andf COMPLETE experience. I dont no, but for me even the fun part of the game has faded. Every game since the 2nd Underground had something that ruined it, not completly tho, but just enough to not make it a GREAT GAME.
The 1st Underground doesn`t count`s IMO coz it was the 1st game to introduce the tuning factor in the car game industry :D and there fore waz a BLAST:D. Most Wanted had the most potential of them all to become a GREAT GAME, but it misses the full potential of tuning ur ride, had a arcade behaviour of the cars,it hadn`t drift and the list can continue. That`s why I THINK that us - the HARDCORE fans - are disapointet by the past 3 or 4 games in the series:(.
Az for Pro Street why they don`t put the Evo X , the new Civic Type R - and the list can continue... arrrrrrrr..... - in the game ?, and about the VERY GOOD THINGS that the rewiers from other sites and game magazines r saing... I will just have to wait and see if r true.

@Aurel_2008

You are dissapointed over something which haven't got much information about, a game which you haven't played, an not even released. They can't just listen to what cars you want and put it there.

Do I see cockpit view mentioned?

[quote=Gamespot]If you burn out long enough, the smoke will start to impede even the [u]cockpit view[/u], and the smoke diffuses everything you're trying to see.[/quote]

Oh, and bbcode is disabled for some reason since you've updated to phpbb3.

Cockpit view? 0_0

Wasn't there something a while back that said there would be no cockpit view? I sure hope that was a lie...

Need another mirror for that video, damn Gamespot sucks. It wont download the video properly and sometimes it just cuts off the download completely.

But I'm looking forward to this game. Actually when you think about it, there isn't too many semi-realistic driving games with stock street cars for PC-platform (at least any good), something like Grand Turismo, Forza or PGR for PC :(. So I really wish this will be a good game.

Nice video! I like the fact than there's not only street racing, look like nfs 3 and it is a good thing.

What I don't like is the super reflecting asphalt, look at the sunshine reflection. I don't know why EA like to put so much hyper reflection crap in every nfs since hot pursuit 2.

BTW, smoke look sweet. :P

You can try to find one of those sites that can identify music by listening to a clip of it...

On the requirements note... I'm so freaked out about it... I'm afraid my 7600GT OC X2 Wont' be able to keep up

EDIT: Where the hell is my new sig???

Oh well... Linky!

Cheers for the mirror Skyline_man.

Well I saw the video and the sense of speed is very good/fast (maybe a bit too fast?). But those cars still seem to handle like they are too lite etc. Smoke was awesome thou.
