That doesn't sound like a temperature problem. Did you increase the voltage enough?weedman173 wrote:I have the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+, and I have tried overclocking. I would highly recommend you get aftermarket cooling if you want to overclock. I tried going up a tiny bit with stock cooling and the system became very unstable, it would boot up and logon and then freeze. It would not stop until I reset the clock frequeny to factory setting

Sweeeet.....
Case: Thermaltake Kandalf LCS
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 600W
Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-E SLI
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo e6750 (running chillingly at 20' C stock speeds)
RAM: Corsair TwinX PC-6400C4 2gig kit
HDD: Seagate 320GB 16MB cache SATAII
Drive: ASUS DRW-1814BLT (might double it)
And to top it all of...
Video Card: Gainward 8800GTS 640mb
I'll grab some pics sometime next week when I either get a Razer Tarantula + Razer Deathadder (or Copperhead), or Logitech G15 and G5, and probably a decent 7.1 Sony camera to replace the old crappy DSE camera I have. It's either the camera or a couple of games... tough choice : P

Re: Post your O SO GREAT system specs!
Okay..... so, Razer Barracuda HP-1 Headphones are like.... having a party, on your ears and yes, they bloody rock.
Time to save for the Samsung tv now, and then it'll be time to buy some more stuff.
Purchases afterward will be:
Speakers: Logitech Z-5500
8900-series might be out by then.
Soundcard: Razer Barracuda AC-1 (might get it, not sure as it's not like there's anything wrong with the one that came with my P5N32-E SLI)
Besides that I don't know....

Upgrade report
Went from
AMD XP 2400+, 1.5GB DDR/400
to
AMD64 X2 5600, 2GB DDR2/800
Which means new motherboard, cpu and ram modules. Also opted for an extra-fast raid setup for a system drive, which had been my biggest problem since some of my work duties require lots and lots of drive bandwidth (not so much space). Not a problem anymore having bought two Western Digital 36GB Raptor drives (10000rpm, 16MB, 4-6 ms seek times) and set them up as RAID-0. Cost a heck of a lot though...ouch (120€ a piece).

Re: Post your O SO GREAT system specs!
Well, though I'm only 16, I've worked with computers my whole life, due to the fact that my dad is an IT professional (bringing home older micronotebooks since I was 6 or 7)
But, since micronotebooks cant do much (IBM X series and Dell Latitude C400 mainly), I decided to go ahead and order this laptop:
Acer Travelmate 6460-6752
Chipset: Intel Centrino Duo (Napa Platform, Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (Merom, Socket M): (2.0GHz, 667 MT/s FSB)
Memory: 2.0 GB DDR2667 RAM
Hard Drive: 160 GB SATA, 5400 RPM
Graphics Processing Unit: ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 (128 MB dedicated graphics memory, up to 512 MB shared graphics + system memory)
Display: 15.4" widescreen WSXGA+ display, up to 1680 x 1050 Resolution
Optical Drive: Modular 16x DVD+-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD-R, CD-R, CD-RW burner
Camera: 1.3 megapixel CMOS Acer Orbicam, 225 degree rotation
Interface ports: 5-in-1 card reader (MS, MS Pro, MMC, SD, xD), 3x USB 2.0 ports,
PCMCIA slot, ExpressCardâ„¢/34 slot, DVI-D port, IEEE 1394 port, S-video/TV-out port, serial port, and standard audio/microphone ports
Wireless: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG mini-PCIe Wi-Fi adapter
Weight: 6.4 lb
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (6460-6752)
It's ok for most games, not Alienware level lol.
What do you guys think?

Re: Post your O SO GREAT system specs!
YAY! I'm gonna install a 500GB Seagate SATA 7200RPM HD because my dad didn't want it.
I have no idea what I'm going to fill it with. I'll probably copy my games on it first.
