undercover choppy framerate fix
Re: underground choppy framerate fix
So basically hes saying that choppy frame rate is related to the cracked version of the game, using the paul.dll file?
lol... all the cheaters got owned

fixed.
Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Yes, I downloaded the game. No, I'm not buying it as it didn't impress me, especially the framerate.
They should've released a demo.

MEh, Ize agree.PSZeTa wrote:They should've released a demo.
EA's tactics seem to only promote a move toward piracy in the PC sector.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Does this really work? By the two comments, it does. I'll try it out, lol.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Just because it happened that the person had a pirated version of the game, doesn't mean that's what contributed to the poor performance. Could be just a coincidence.
It seems to me that most people who have problems with performance have nVidia videocards. Maybe that could be a factor? Because I have a downloaded copy and the game actually runs nicely.

Would explain the issue of PS3 fraps and 360 fraps.2furio wrote: It seems to me that most people who have problems with performance have nVidia videocards. Maybe that could be a factor? Because I have a downloaded copy and the game actually runs nicely.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Yes, they definitely should have. I read about all the terrible reviews on this game and since there isn't a demo for me to play on my 360, I can't make my own judgment on how good or bad the game is. So EA, I guess I won't buy it and save myself the money.PSZeTa wrote:Yes, I downloaded the game. No, I'm not buying it as it didn't impress me, especially the framerate.

Re: underground choppy framerate fix
Ah, if only this was the case! Unfortunately, my game has started running like crap after a few hours of play (see other postings), and it is a FULLY LEGAL, SHOP BOUGHT copy.t3ice wrote:So basically hes saying that choppy frame rate is related to the cracked version of the game, using the paul.dll file?

I suspect it is piddle poor optimization at work
Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Lol, amazing how placing back the original file has worked wonders.
Now I can finally consider whether the gameplay makes this game worth buying.

Re: underground choppy framerate fix
It probably is. Imo Idt one crummy 'paul.dll' file could create wonders...DarrenR21373 wrote:I suspect it is piddle poor optimization at work
So you legalized it and now its working better? ....PSZeTa wrote:Lol, amazing how placing back the original file has worked wonders.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
i tried the "new crack"
and it didn't change a thing on my game... shadow's just as crappy, and fps is just as low... nothing's different

Re: underground choppy framerate fix
The problem is a crack that possibly causes these problems. So no, I didn't legalize it. I used a different crack.t3ice wrote:So you legalized it and now its working better? ....
@zedex
It'd obviously depend on what system you're running. If it's slow, it isn't going to do wonders.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Woah, how is this not locked?
Good God, we just blew the Warez rule to hell...
Oh well, I have decent frames (20-25) so I'll try it anyway...
--EDIT--
Wait, it's not even a crack... it's just the original file.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
It fixes just the massive stuttering, even there's some still. The shadows and others still like crap and it keeps loading in front of you.
Seems to be a good headshot for guys who dl the pirated one, but I'm still waiting a patch for the guys who bought the game like me.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Why should it? It's not like anyone shared any links. Besides, there's no sidetracking of warez. It's merely a choppy rate discussion, as far as I can observe.Carcrazy wrote:Woah, how is this not locked?

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
I didn't say it should, it's just we've had people openly admitting to, eh... things.
*Guilty Party*
Although I get the feeling it's already wrapped in my parent's closet, like normal.
(And hopefully with a 360 or a GTX260-Core216...) *Prays*
But, I must have been lucky. People were complaining about the crack that came with, eh, my "disk," so I got a different one. No problems so far, other that the loading in front of you BS, but I get the feeling that has to do with my HDD configuration... (why the hell didn't I do RAID again?)

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
I tried it out and it works decently. No, it doesn't fix shadows or graphics in general. But it makes the frame rate more smooth and it doesn't freeze all the time [for me].

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Managed to fix my problems too.
My fix - I downloaded "Defraggler" from http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler/ - a free disk defragmenter that seems to work better than XP's built in one - defragged the HDD and all is sweet again
Seems strange that my PC is older than most here (P4 3.2 running XP Pro with 4GB RAM, 7600GT 256MB graphics card), yet I'm not even getting the loading infront of you BS now I've defragged either - give it a go, you've nothing to lose
There's an added bonus of an aged PC: I'm running with world effects set to "off" - which just happens to get rid of the horrible motion blur as well...

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
@DarrenR21373: Could you explain more clearly on how to defrag the HDD... the fix I used although takes care of frame rate and freezing, my computer restarted at the "Nick of Time" job because it can't load fully. Although it recovered from the error and should work, I still want to know... thanks.

Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
Little do people know that the "paul.dll" was taken from another game... specifically an Atari one .
Re: undercover choppy framerate fix
TDU it seems ...
Now, I wonder if there's going to be a patch for Undercover issues. I'm worried about the fact EA hasn't said a word for the people who bought the game, that's what it has me worried about.
At least EA can say: "yeah, we will release a patch fixing graphical stuff and optimization" ... but nothing ... typical EA...
