NFSU & U2 Widescreen
NFSU & U2 Widescreen
This certainly isn't new, but it seems most people I talk to haven't heard about it, so I thought I'd post it up.
The good folks over at widescreengamingforum.com have a tool for patching certain games to allow them to run at (much) higher resolutions than they were originally designed for.
The tool, UniWS, supports just a few specific games, but happily our old faves NFS nderground and Underground 2 are amongst the few.
As you can see, the tool is quite easy to use:
.. and the results, well they speak for themselves!!
You can grab the (free) UniWS tool from http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wi ... .php/UniWS - enjoy!

Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
Nice, I guess I'll need to install UG1 again....
I have been looking for a way to increase the screen capture quality of it.

...Or you can go to REGEDIT, then HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Underground 2 and change the resolution there.
Seriously though, this tool looks sweet and I'd try it but I'm using a normal 1280x1024 monitor anyway. Would be cool with a projector or a bigger monitor though.

I haven't played Underground in a long time. I've also barely played Underground 2. I'll try this out...

Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
I played UG2 on a nice Viewsonic projector when it first came out. Bulbs burnt out now. But I used to shoot the game up on my wall (about 9ft high) and just sit in the middle of the room and crank the bass. OMG, THAT was the only reason I liked UG2.RedCarDriver wrote: Seriously though, this tool looks sweet and I'd try it but I'm using a normal 1280x1024 monitor anyway. Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
That sounds great, but do you think that the software would bog down my system? I really wanted to play at 1440X900 (my monitor max supported resolution). My PC specs are : Intel P4 2.40C HT OC'd to 3.30GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, Radeon X1650Pro 256MB AGP8X

Hello Everyone...
Recently I had played UG2.I most like its graphic and sound.
This is the only reason for playing UG2.
I enjoy lot more than UG1.

Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
Is it possible to have it running on two screens at once? Maybe stretched over the 2, or is it one of those things that just isn't possible?
IF it don't cost anything, DON'T BUY IT!!
Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
Whoa man. I'll give this a try.GT3x24x7 wrote:This certainly isn't new, but it seems most people I talk to haven't heard about it, so I thought I'd post it up.

Edit*[It's not working for me.. US patch 1.4 on win7 ultimate x64...
I've tried the 1920x1080 resolution but it didn't changed....]
It did after 3 re-installs and lot of time... but... now i get some screen freezes...
I use full graphics and Nvidia GT 440

Re: NFSU & U2 Widescreen
Hmm well, this is not the place to ask for support - we have nothing to do with UniWS itself. Anyway, here are a few things to check.
- UniWS only works on a cracked SPEED.EXE - that is, a NoCD version.
- You have to switch to 640x480 resolution in the game to use your custom settings.
- There may be issues running UniWS on 64-bit Windows or with your gfx card. Best to check with the developers there.
