Well I'm personally a Rotary engine fan. But the only way i think that is fair to say who is the best manufacture is who wins Bathurst and this year it was Greg Murphy and Rick Kelly in the Holden Commodore Kmart race car.
For those who don't know about Bathurst it's an 161 Lap 8 Hour endurance race in Australia between Holdens and Fords.

Yes, Greg Murphy won in a Holden Commodore, and he was followed by SIX FORDS.cr@Zy wrote:Well I'm personally a Rotary engine fan. And perhaps you don't realise this, but all V8 Supercars are almost identical, and they are nothing like the road cars they represent.
@Drewb99: I was watching the race when that happened. It was absolutely crazy. At least the kangaroo died for a good cause . . . trying to take a Holden out of the race.

Ford and Holden both Have Strong Points....
Ford have copped unfair criticism over the less than Admirable success of the AU Falcon Series...
The BA on the Other Hand saw the Birth Of FPV and the XR6 Turbo.....a god send as far as i am concerned. The XR6 Turbo Is a Falcon (family sized sedan) with a Turbo Charged 4.0injected DOHC Straight 6 that produces ample power (240kw i beleive) and tourque (a lot of Nm i know)....But their V8's are not all that great... A FPV built 290 only pulls in reality around 230-250 Kw. A Mildly Modified Pursuit only managed 268.
I Witnessed a STOCK VYII Clubsport (claimed 285kw) Pull 310 on a DD dyno. Another on the Same day pulled 295 Kw. Also a SS Ute with Cold Air Int. Pulled 231kw.....
While fords BA Success is admirable, the Ability of Holden to Tune the Rather lumby Ls1's to pull impressive numbers stock, is also very cool.
'There has never been any hard evidence to suggest any real advantage in having DOHC' - MOTOR Magazine.....
Even More impressive are the old school holdens.... Still today the one tonner lives on, and still running strong.
The red block 202.....decades later and still running strong
love to see a 250 x-flow (A newer motor) still run like those blocks do now....
I like holdens, while ford have had theit moments, holden still strike me as superior...
and anytbody that uses V8 supercars as a gauge, is a tool...
*pauses**looks up*.....wow

Where the f*ck did you get your info from?
Why do you think a Boss 290 is called a Boss 290? Because it has 290kW! Anyone who tells you otherwise is a knob.
And there is no way in hell that a stock clubsport can make 310kW. it's more like 265kW. Even a stock Senator only makes 300kW.
And anyone here will tell you that DOHC is better than pushrods.
Recently Holden have been struggling to keep up with Fords engines, and if they stick with the LS1 then they will be struggling for a long time.
If you still believe that you're right, then let's see some proof.

I get my Info from reading, driving, talking and the Internet.
I do not own a Scanner...mmm Performance ford magazine features 290 powered Pursuit pulling only 268....and its modded
yet a clubsport still beats the crap out of a GT...*pauses*...mmmmm
meh.
i witnessed it with my own eyes at the Holden V Ford Motor show. (the clubsports owning dyno readout)

It was a Dyno Dynamics Dyno so errr im almost sure they are pretty good.
As for the Pursuits mods that is possible i suppose... a little odd because theyre only bolt on mods and no forced induction. mmm....
ford mire than likely got 290 on paper, or on an engine dyno? on paper would be the more likely answer, if they can show how they got it they can claim anything.

I am with rotary engines and Mazda.
Well this is either Ford or Holden eh? Well I can actually sit enjoying because I am with both
Ford owns parts of Mazda
But Mazda has a history of the Roadpacer, where GM was interrested in the rotary engine, in return we got a Holden chassis to meet the Japanese demand for a rotary luxery car.
However, it was too heavy to be attractive and the engine wasn't big enough (2 rotor) so it became a failure, and GM lost interrest in the engine.
Thats Mazda's ties with em
I still like rotaries more. but nor Ford, nor Holden has em, so, I'll sit on the fence here and enjoy the show.

OOoOoOOoOo, my rims are shinier than yours !!!!
My Clubsport is lower
but the clubsport was stock, not modified. I used the modded ute as an example to show fords lackiong in the v8 dept[/quote]

how can you not like the VY....meh its all your opinion i spose....must admit i dont really like the VY series. I love the VX though.
I find the VY SS the only ss with a decent bodykit, even the new ones are too conservative (the lack that hint of aggresiveness that the vy ss bodykit had)....
oh well all to their own.
