OFF TOPIC WARNING!
The Audi TT is a fashion statement. Its for middle management people who think they've made it. They are not really that expensive, hence you see them often. Its a nice looking car, but otherwise you can forget it. Its a Golf, with a Golf turbo. Did you know that its one of the most recalled cars in modern car history? My step Fathers friend had one and spun it going down on a slip road that leads to a motorway...thats why they all have that gay spoiler on the back now days. Dont worry my step Fathers friend got rid of it and got an Impreza STi.
For Audi its a good thing as they sell so much, but it also degrades the product due to its image. They've got the DSG gearbox in it now to try to make people think its a sports car...but the damage is done already so there is no coming back. I doubt Audi care too much as girls as people who want to think they are someting buy so many of the f**kers!
The Honda S2000 is a fantastic car, in my opinion.

Ok, I just wanted to clear this issue with Porsche vs. piece of crap Huindai WRC deal. As I wrote earlier, they raced each other on a track last year summer. The Huyndai was in gravel spec, which means a set up that would hamper it's performance on a race tarmac (it's heavy on puropose). But it won in the end, it beat the mighty 911(996) Turbo by 1 second!! Here are the specs. Amazing, isn't it? Respect the little Korean car.
Huyndai WRC
2-litre, turbocharged developing around 300 BHP and weighing 1250kgs
Porsche 911 Turbo
3.6-litre, twin turbo, six-cylinder @450 BHP, weight 1540kgs
Race stats: Porsche/Hyundai
0-30mph 1.5s/1.6s
0-60mph 3.8s/ 3.9s
0-100mph 9.0s/9.8s
Lap time 43.2s/42.2s
max/min lap speeds: Porsche - 103/42mph. Hyundai - 99/46mph
Think again when saying all Huyndai are crap and never had a race car!

Coming back to the topic...
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the max I have so far is 388 km/h with Blow Engine ending. I also have alot of 380+, but never able to reach 390. Most of 385+ cases cause Blow Engine. I think I'm gonna give up!
I'm running RX-7 Engine/EQU/NOS TJ Upgraded @ Highway with Medium or High skill opponents. I use NOS a little (just 1-2 taps) on low gears for better accel. After shifting to 6 I start tapping NOS, staying behind an opp's car, gather some drafting. Then my car stops reacting on NOS, since the RPM maxxed out, I need to brake to avoid Blow Engine. So the max speed I have right behind the opp's car, or the moment later after overtaking. During the race I have 4-5 perfect shifts.
Is there anything wrong?

IMO you CHEATED!
because i reach 388 and i get restarted as if my car is in a crash....
maby u have some nos mod or no blow engine mod or even something better
but check this vid i did today...

i just started to try to go as fast as my car would go, and with reading these tips i managed to get this speed. After this it just seems like a matter of luck.

it's luck to some degree, but you still need to master drafting, picking the right starting point, using the NOS correctly and so on. Once you figured that, you can start pushing more and more. I get 390+ around 4/10 now... So luck to get the highest score, yes, but 390 - well, it's very well within the limit.
Tried recently with a Golf, and here's the best I managed with it... not so bad, eh?

2Ace_LT: dude, each time you gonna accuse someone in cheating, ask yourself if you know the subject well. Only in this case you can decide. Otherwise, you just look stupid.
I've been trying to reach fastest speed in drag for like 2 weeks and I even completed NFSU one more time to be sure I have the correct TJ upgrades.
So, don't be lazy, read the posts above how to make it and it's not my problem that you have a buggy version of NFS.
And I agree with pacodog, if you're reaching 390, after this it's all about your luck. Keep on dragging, changing opponents, finding perfect conditions.
2pacodog: nice result, BTW i managed to reach 187+ with Civic. I think it's not bad either.
