I was a party-pooper this year. Had one glass of Bourbon+coke and fell asleep on the couch, watching the 2010 music countdown.

Couldn't have any alcohol because I was driving.

I'm really glad I got my licence before the strict new rules came in. I can legally drink drive, as long as the reading is under 0.05%. My sister though (who is two years older than me) is not allowed to have a drop of liquor, or she'll instantly lose her licence.

I think it use to be 0.02% when I had my P's?

We actually ended up with a lot left over, even though everyone got plenty hammered. Good thing, though - we ended up having a New Years Day party, as well, with the leftovers.

When did those rules come in? I've always thought it had to be 0.00. The only rule that recently came in for my state is the high-performance cars one but I'm exempt from that.

I had to google it, because I really can't remember. Looks like it was changed in 2008:

We never had those Performance car rules though. They seem real stupid to me. I think it's understandable that P platers aren't allowed to drive 400bhp Commodores... but 'anything with a turbo!? Lame.

Oh there are exceptions like turbodiesels or the sorts of cars that need a turbo to actually move (what they call "economy purposes").

My total mediacenter setup (mce pc, 42" tv, av-amp, 5.1 speaker system) total might be close to that, but for a "computer" setup that's awesome.

- Asus Xonar STX (using this as DAC)
- Parasound P/LD-1100 pre-amplifier
- Peavey PC4-XL digital active crossover
- Aragon 2004 power-amplifier
- Infinity Infinitesimal IV bookshelf speakers
- Infinity SSW-10 servo subwoofer
- Beyerdynamic DT250 headphones

The pre-amp also has a built-in dual mono headphone amp which sounds amazing. So much better than the STX headphone amp.

Anyway, the reason it cost so much is because I had it shipped from the US. If I lived over there it would have been significantly cheaper -_-

How is NFS dead? It's rather that NFSUnlimited... as much as I hate to say it, is, for a lack of a better term, dying. Needs a bit of a defliberlator? Something like a SRC, or a CTC... just something to boost more reasons to stay around like the old times... heck, if I could, I'll make one.
