Yeah, but they're pickups. The Ram, F150 ect are built with the aim of being as tough as possible, which means that you do alright if your in one, but if your in another car or a pedestrian then you're buggered. Which is highly likely, seen as the only people who feel the need to buy a vehicle that big are utter pillocks who have no regard for the safety of others.

well yea tough is good, there has been somewhat of a push to make the impact with a larger vehicle a little safer. like crumple zones and what not. and a big broad front bumper spreads the force over a broader area so not one area on the car gets completely demolished. it is also up to the companies to make their cars safe too, though most cars will never be as safe in an impact like a 4 ton vehicle but they are getting pretty good

ROFL .......... true.
a couple weeks ago when it was one of those rainy days. a volkswagen passat traveling on a hilly single lane road hit a puddle of water that caused it to hydroplane into an oncoming cadillac ext. the he3ad on collision happened at 50-60 mph. one person inside the passat died instantly and the other died at the hospital the two people inside the cadillac suffered serious injuries as well but they lived. sometimes it isnt always careless driving sometimes it is a freak accident and alot of times the people in the smaller vehicle dont do so well im afraid

Ofcourse head on a SUV will always be stonger then a normal car, a SUV is not so much a safer car, it's more a unsafe car for other traffic, for the people inside the SUV it's relatively safe, but because it's a high car it will cause serious damage on any car that is lower then itself. I seen several crashtest between SUV/Jeeps and normal passenger cars. in general they completely distroy the passenger car, and often flip over themselfs and are more damaged by the rolling then the crash with the car.
A big(ger) change that if the Passat hit a normal car at the same speed they would have survived but because a SUV is higher it goes above the protection beam and will simply plow into the car at high speed.

I've gotta say I'm not a huge fan of either drag car sounds or boxers. The high-tune Porsches are an exception to this, though. To me, drag cars just sound loud, have no real definition, rasp or any sound pleasing to the ears.
At the moment, I'm loving the sound of the Audi I5 Turbo engines again. Nothing better than hearing a Sport Quattro on full blast.

yea there really isnt any tone to those dragsters. but has anyone ever heard one of these before ? take like 4 top fuel dragster motors and slap them on a sled and go roaring down the dirt track with a 60,000 lb trailer attached and see how far it pulls it. these things are so loud that when they go by your guts vibrate and your heart feels weird, it is most certainly deafening
