Temporary fix for video stuttering problem.

Post by Ceano »

Open Direct X and move the sound slider (sound 1) one step back, works just fine for me. If you still get the video stuttering, just try to move it one more step back tills you don't get the stuttering anymore.

This is just a temporary fix tills EA hopefully releases the new patch to solve this problem.

Is it just the sound stuttering, or the video as well?

since it deals with the sound aspect of directX, i'd assume it to be just the sound stuttering

If your video is stuttering, you should lower the cache size in the registry ...

Nah, mine's running fine.
Just curious, cause setting acceleration to "Basic" fixed a video stuttering problem I had recently. Serious Sam 2 really hates onboard AC'97 chips...

You ought to let EA support know about this - obviously a conflict with your particular sound card (or maybe even just your current drivers). Now that you've pinpointed it, they should be able to easily fix it in the next patch (if there is one...). Good work!! ;)

@GINIX: Try dropping the hardware sound acceleration down another notch to "Basic", and see if that helps any more.
EDIT: Oops... that was in the original post...

I have some new info about all sort of game crashes, it seams like all crashes have to do with the video stuttering issue. EA has done a research and are going to review the feedback and see what they can come up with in a future patch.

It works for some and not for others, but as i did say it's just a temporary fix tills EA releases a patch to solve the issue permanent. I have also tried to install a new nVidia driver for my video card that supposed to fix the rendering problem, then the stuttering did get worse :(

Yes and changing the "Cache Size" doesnt help, and to disable "Motion Blur" makes the game CTD when you do pursutes and reach over 5 000 000 (witch is rely irritating).

Changing the cache size to an appropriate level alleviated the situation a bit but the game is still unplayable.
