NFSUnlimited - tracking cookie source?

I'm not pointing any fingers, but when you first enter nfsunlimited.net, there would a pop-up coming from media.fastclick or something. I had recently scanned for spyware and any malware and I have recieved multiple tracking cookies from this site that nfsunlimited has advertised. Normally, I would always press alt+f4 or on the taskbar I'd right click it and close it.

Are these cookies normal, or is this a problem?

Uh, cookies are just text files dude.. and you need to blame fastclick, who advertise via edgefiles, our host.

OoO, cookies. Dangerous....

I really don't get why almost all ad-ware scanner make such a big deal out of them. It's ok to delete them once in a while (specifically the ones used by advertisers) but to call them a securiy risk is a bit much.

No. The most common use for them is to keep track of login information (so you don't have to login to a particular site every time you visit the site).

Advertisers sometimes use cookies to track what adds have been shown to you on various sites, and if you have clicked any of them (if you have, they then show you adds similar to that you showed interest to). Not exactly dangerous, but can be considered as "big brother" type behaviour, ie. spying on your internet habits... That's why most adware/spyware programs remove cookies from advertisers (they don't outright remove <i>all</i> cookies, which is good).
