Info: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html

Buy it online from there or at any decent computer store or large retailer. Full version RRP is USD649. You get what you pay for.

Dude I'm working on it, yesterday I couldn't get Jasc Paint Shop Pro to work with dds files , but I downloaded the
DDS Photoshop Plugin from this web page : http://developer.nvidia.com/object/nv_t ... tools.html , and then
I read the instructions about halfway down the page . I tried to follow them but I could not open the DDS Photoshop Plugin .
So I downloaded a free trial of Adobe Photoshop from here : http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html ,
and then I installed the free trial . Now I could open the DDS Photoshop Plugin and I followed the instructions for using the DDS
plug-in with Paint Shop Pro , the instructons can be downloaded off of this page here : http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NV ... _Steps.doc ,
at first nothing would work , but I uninstalled Jasc Paint Sho Pro and then reinstalled it and now I think I am about half way
there . You need this plugin so that Jasc Paint Shop Pro will be able to open dds files.

first tries , so please don't make fun of my picture , I know

Question

Post by toineed »

He i have a question i am a total noob at understanding windows :)
I want to create vinyls for nfs underground. My version of photoshop can;t read or open dds files. I followed the info on this forum and downloaded the dds.8bi file. That's a plugin. If i double click it it says that it cannot open because of the file type. The problem is that i don't know how to install a plugin. Can someone help me please !!!!

Another question

Post by toineed »

Thx for the info John T. Herder

But i have another problem or question. example: If i open the miata_custom1 texture then it comes in the oppossite color when you see it in the game. I was just trying something out and i put a picture in it just to understand what to do when i want to make an vinyl. Is the texture color Inverse(photo negative)? Then when i had saved it i wanted to see if it worked in the game so i opened bintex and wanted to import the texture in miata_custom1. Then i had an error that says[texture has a format error! make sure p8 textures are in 8r8b8g8 format]
Now for my question do you know what i did wrong? Can you give me instruction on how to save the texture and must i edit miata_custom1_mask too?

Thx for the time and hope anyone knows what i'm talking about!!

Read through these posts : http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... light=argb ,
http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... light=argb ,
http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... light=argb ,
they should help you out as far as the saving the image part . As far
as the colors go I am still lost in the woods , but I know I will find
my way out . I think this post has been helpful to me :
http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... light=blue .
You have to edit the mask too . Good luck .

I have 'Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8', and was wondering what things I need to be able to edit vinyls in it? Do I need any plug-ins or stuff. If someone could help with web address' and such that would be great.

I need help. I'm not an expert with photoshop or similar...
If I import in my custom vynil an image or a drawing I know I must change its colours cause they are not the same in the game (ex: yellow image looks blue). How can i decide in which colour I must change the original one in photoshop to have my original image colour in the game?
I hope i explain well.
Anyone can help me?

Check this post here : http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... ight=alpha .
It might help , colors are a problem , but after a lot of searching through these forums , you can find what you want .
After a while of editing vinyls you will get it all in your head
which color turns out to be what color in the game , like
yellow being red and so forth .

Arrg! it doesn't work, and Ive checked everything at least 2 times... BTW, I have Photoshop 5.5, so maybe thats the problem. does anyone know where I can get compatible files, because I think that Adobe's forcing people to upgrade their expensive programs is not right.

EDIT: What really confuses me though is that the computer recognises it as a plugin and its got the same icon as the other plugins, but......

I'd say that's the problem. The Bintex manual and the DDS plug ins say - Photoshp 7.0 (and above). So 5.5 is probably too old. You'd need to search the compatability issue with dds plug ins. Or just search DDS plug ins for PS5.5 - jus Google for it. That's all I can really suggest, sorry man.
