, This will usually happen if you have nfsu running at the same time
you are using bintex , like if you hit Alt+Tab during nfsu to minimize it down to the task bar at the bottom of the your pc screen .
Bintex won't work correctly . You have to quit nfsu , use bintex , save , then open nfsu back up .

Read this post : http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... ght=#26774 , it might help , make sure bintex and the readme file and the dll are all in the same folder , do not seperate them.

I edited the xmod vinyl for my integra....I didnt like the result....I replaced the vinyls.bin of my integra with the original one (cuz I made a backup at the beginning....)
I went back to the game->customize->hop the game crashes
I tried again and again to replace with the original file but nothing
I tried.....I failed.....I erased everything
my nfsu is GONE
and now I'm happy cuz I wont pass my time doing stupid things with my computer like .....edit vinyls..ppppff.....play online with cheaters.....pppffff enough!
you can ban my nickname or whatever......
bye

bobyx wrote:Only use the colors that were in the dds file before you edited it. If you use any other colors, the game will crash when you load the vinyl.

Wow, bintex is the most belligerent program I've ever used, ever o_O
Having learned to model from a no knowledge basis within a few months, I'm fairly baffled that I can't actually pin down any kind of rules for this dds format to be working on. That is to say, in the last 18 hours or so, I've managed successfully to replace a single texture. Simply put, bintex stroppily tells me to use palette ARGB, which I did, repeatedly, with extreme prejudice. At some point it screwed up and allowed me to update one, but for the life of me, I can't find out what the hell it was I did. Nothing works, nothing. Whatever happens everything's fine until that damn bintex chokes on it.
Anyone know an actual set of circumstances that creates a legit, not killing bintex, working .dds? Someone surely knows. I spent several hours looking for the answer, and several people have asked, but before they get an answer someone else always says something like "omg liek i cant work out how to open it!" and it gets derailed...
If anyone actually knows what to do about this, please could they post it asap... this is ludicrous >_<
