Crystal Method pwns. Great techno. (Although the beat is really repetitive in each song...)

My personal preference is for some of the older electronica:

Electric Light Orchestra (E.L.O.) springs to mind - awesome group. :D

Thom Yorke has some crazy shiznit. He's the lead singer of Radiohead, but he also has his own album, The Eraser. In the song 'Skip Divided' he samples a lot of his own voice.

Umm well the list would be too long if I would list all good electronic artists.
I like a bunch of different artists in different electronic genres.
Not that much into dance/trance/house.

But here's some sort of a list... Basicly artists that i've listened to the most in the last year or so.

ambient/chillout/trip-hop/downtempo:

Thievery Corporation
Boards of Canada
Massive Attack
Air
Amon Tobin (also his older releases under the alias Cujo)
Sneaker Pimps
Slowhill
Rinneradio
múm
Sigur Rós
Arovane
Tortoise
Vangelis (nice movie scores)

idm/experimental/breakcore:

Aphex Twin, AFX (also other aliases used by Richard D. James)
Plaid
Wagon Christ
Luke Vibert
Venetian Snares
µ-Ziq
Kid Spatula
Squarepusher

psy/goa:

Shpongle
Infected Mushroom
Ott
Juno Reactor

other electronic artists (all sort of techno/breakbeat/alternative stuff):

The Prodigy
Orbital
Delerium
Cylob
RJD2
Moloko
Moby
The Chemical Brothers
Röyksopp
Apollo 440
M83
Daft Punk
Vitalic
Westbam (older stuff from before 1998 or so, good techno)
Overseer
Fluke
Hardknox
Umek
Fatboy Slim
The Future Sound of London
Prefuse 73
RMB
Dune (very good if you like happy hardcore/rave stuff)
Leftfield
Underworld
Anthony Rother

Big enough list for ya? ;)
Should keep you busy for a while if you decide to give them all a listen.
You should really try last.fm for finding artists.
I found like 1/3 of these artists through there.

Hmm ... I'm big fan of electro music...

So ... these are my favourites...

Phillipe B
Mylo
Freemasons
David Morales
Seamus Haji
Chicane
Röyksopp
Armin van Buuren
Ferry Corsten

There are more good artists, but I can't say that they are the best if I like 1 of their songs...

Well I also listen to a lot of other stuff too.
For example just a couple of weeks ago I had 3 albums in my mp3-player which were all really different from each other (only 256mb player).
One was electronic, one was progressive rock and one was a classical album.

Oh yeah - forgot the industrial stuff:

You could try Rammstein - a German industrial/metal/electronic group. Excellent if you understand German, but they also do some stuff in English.

(DJ) Tiësto
Ferry Corsten
System F
Gouryella
Armin Van Buuren
Lasgo
Milk Inc.

Coldwave
DJ Isaac
Yoji Biomehanika
Beppe Barilli
Mauro Picotto
DJ Splash
Basshunter
Schwarzende
Skam
Tweetwoof
The KGB's
Lady Tom
Scooter (would be a lot better without the random yelling from H.P. Baxxter, but the music still kicks ass... try to find instrumentals :P)
Dune
Das Modul
Starchild
Karol
Pakito
Krafft
TV Junkeez
Cascada
Groove Coverage
Baracuda
Mark'Oh
Special D.
Rocco
Megara vs DJ Lee

And a couple of my current favorites:
Pulsedriver - The Whistle Song

Sylver - Lay All Your Love On Me (Shaun Baker & Melino Remix)

That should keep you occupied for a while... :P

Wow, I didn't see the following on this list and they've been making a lot of songs:

-Benny Benassi (Lol, gotta love that Satisfaction)
-Moby (The "Go2006 Mix" is an amazing beat)
-Mason (Exceeder)
-Outwork (Elektro 2006)

And if you're ever stumped, just give Pete Tong's Essential Selection a good listen and you'll have a couple of hours of great House/Dance/Techno music on there with lots of remixes to good songs (Eg. Justin Timberlake - My Love [Angello / Ingrosso Remix])

I actually found Röyksopp through Moby because they were the warmup act on Moby's gig in Helsinki a few years back.
I had heard maybe one track from Röyksopp before but nothing more.
I thought they were actually better than Moby :D.
Moby did save a bit of a boring concert with a 7min~ version of "Feeling so real" in the encore.
Boring because his new stuff isn't so great and that's what he of course played the most...

Thought I'd revive this topic from the dead... I've been checking out some tracks by Alex Gaudino and Laurent Hill.

Anyone else know of artists/songs that have a similar "flavour" [Latin House, ocean drums, piano house]?

Hmm, strange I've never seen this topic before! Lawl!

Wait, electric as in like genre or artist playing electric music? If it's the second one, I pick Daft Punk. They produce great songs, especially with the latest one with Kanye West. :)

You'd think an artist playing electronic music would fall under the electronic category :P

Yes, Daft Punk is undoubtedly a great duo. If you haven't heard it, go search "Around The World HBFS Remix", it combines Daft Punk's best to create a really great track :)

And this topic was months old before I revived it just a couple days ago.
