NFSC and Windows Vista RC2

Post by vegettoxp »

Hey Guys

I just found out that NFSC will not work for Vista RC2. I was just wondering do you guys think when EA releases the Patch for the game and after that the game will work on Vista. How come NFSMW works on Vista and not NFS Crabon doesn't?

Any thoughts?

you can switch to xp mode, I've got the vista rc2 version, and will get the ultimate edition when it's out. I never played nfs games on the beta version, I think most wanted should definitely work on vista, carbon should too.

I am using NFSC with Vista RC2 (Build 5744) with the beta nVidia drivers. It works fine although I have most of the settings lower than I would want. One thing I did was to make it run in Admin mode. I tried switching it to compatability mode after running it on Vista. It doesn't like that, must think it is another installation and says to enter the DVD (when it is already there). What specs are you running?

These are mine:
Athlon 64 3200
512mb RAM
512mb USB Flash Drive (ReadyBoost) Really helps alot!
nVidia 7300LE 256mb PCI-E
Windows Vista RC2 - 64-bit

If Carbon even cant be launched on WinXP 64-Bit then what do you expect from Vista?

p.s. Vista itself will make its way onto my personall PC only 1-2 years off official release....im not interested in having to deal with all beta-bugs.

I had to rename the Movies folder for it to work in RC2. Go to the installation folder for Carbon and find the Movies folder, I renamed it Moviez. Voila! Works like a charm. Good luck to you Veg.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to let you know that I got NFSC to work on Vista and everything is cool and working. Thx for your guys help.

I only have one question, I registered my NFSC copy and I have a online account and when I launched Carbon for the first time, I logged in and everything was cool. My question is, isn't Carbon suppose to save my info from carbon online. Like Money, Cars, you what I have done so far in carbon. I logged in and I did see anything on the EA's website.

So if someone can tell me what I am doing wrong or what I should do, please help me.

One last thing, is there a way to change the music. In my opinion, MW had better music then Carbon. I want to play my track while the game is running. Is there a way to intergate the music?

THX again for all the help!
