Juiced Modding/Retexturing

Post by race_invader »

Well im not sure how many people have juiced but i know alot of you hated it, well i have good news you can mod and retexture or change the script files

before you start make sure you BACK UP YOUR JUICED FILES!

----------------
Tools: (JAR) Juiced Archive Ripper, Nvidia Texture tools

Retexturing/Vinyls

Click on JAR.Exe and a window will come up it will look abit like Bintex actually, click on open and go to the Install dictionary were you installed Juiced and have a look around at the .dat files and open anyone of them. (Ill use the monaro.dat)

When open.. It will come up a list of numbers 1 to 174 etc, Click on 'Action' and select 'extract all and convert to DDS' then select the destination for the Extracted files to go.

Once Extracted... Go into the folder and Delete all .BIN files coz you cannot open them, Open Photoshop or whatever you may have with the Nvidia DDS Tools and click 'File - Open' find you Extracted .dds file and look at the textures once you select the Texture a box will come up you must load MIP Maps and Default Size.

Edit your texture after you have finished 'Flatten Image' and Save As and save it in a diffrent File or put it on you desktop the save Options Are as follows.

8:8:8:8 ARGB (32 Bit) -- No MIP Maps -- 2D Texture (Hit Save)

To Import it back in Open JAR and open the .dat file what you extracted the textures out of and look for the number your .DDS file is (Must never rename the number) once you find that number Right click twice and a small box will pop up showing the Original Texture, Click 'File' and 'Import' Select your Number were you have saved it and another small box will ask you something just select 'Decal Texture' then the Image box will Load your new texture then it will Autosave the changes

Load up Juiced and Enjoy your new texture! 8)

Quick Example (Holden Monaro):

I know that is crap but its just a Example

Any Problems just post them here, ill be glad to help! :)

----------------------------

Export/Importing Custom Cars

This is being worked on there is a Script for 3d's Max what let you import the models but as for importing well im not sure.. :?

Imported BMW M3:

Post here anything you have done to juiced or possibly other tools if you can find some...

Well all you can do is try coz you learn from mistakes ill help you out even if you want.. :)
i don't do online but retexturing cars or vinyls people will see the original vinyl and textures my guess coz THQ isn't really big on Online atm i don't think :?

Edit: I can't sign up keeps saying im not on the internet or something... but umm all i can say is try it and if something happens then quickly shut it or just if you backup your juiced files so then if you cant do it just replace the modded files with the normal ones again so then you don't have to reinstall the game

Did you take out the following:

large.Jpg

zlibwapi.dll

JuicedArchiveRipper.exe

If you take out all of them out of that .rar file it should work no errors whats so ever there hasn't been any bug reported at all

The headlights and tail lights could be enhanced using the process race_invader used. But even the highest resolution picture will look good to a certain point, they will never look as good as 3D.

a problem with juiceds lights is, the amount of polygons or w/e they're called
it lacks proper shapes. NFSu2 and up have some really nice modeling even in the smaller details such as the lights :)
juiced wouldve looked much better if they did that too
apparently they are making J2 look tons better :)
