How does this rig sound?
I'm trying to find the cheapest system I can build that will play the latest games good.
This is extreme techs bang for buck system with the things I can get from my old system removed.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
motherboard: Gigabyte P35-DS3R
Memory: 2GB Kingston HyperX PC2-6400 plus 2GB ReadyBoost
GfX: PNY XLR8 8800 GTS 320MB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
Sound: SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
Speakers: Samsung 226BW, Logitech X-240
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Total: $1322 / £678

DON'T use the power supply that comes with the case. They are cheaply made and do not last long. If it decides to die on you, other components in your computer are at risk of going with it. Could you find out if it says what the brand of psu is in the case, if there is none it is going to be a cheap thing that won't last.

from nvidia for a 8800 GTX
450 watt power supply with a minimum of 30 amps on the +12 volt rail (for SLI configurations please visit: http://www.slizone.com for requirements)
now if you got a 450 W psu it SHOULD run but it might also go into "low power mode" like my 6800 did when i hooked it up to a 250W psu. like i said i would atleast get 500W just to play it safe

I would take a 20 inch display, like the Dell 2007WFP. same resolution, smaller screen --> smaller dots, better quality. and probably cheaper.
about the 320Mb GTS, will probably run slow at 1680x1050. Not now, but think of future games... take the 640Mb version, or get a smaller monitor (1440x900)
