Thanks Mate.
No probs, those were just the fun ones I rolled off: Civic - VTEC weapon!, Golf - Euro Icon, AE86 - Initial D.

I never saidit IS a good starter car. I just said it's the one i WANT. Anyway, my view of a good starter car is demonstrated by the Toyota Corolla.

Old or new? New? Yeah, perhaps. I wouldn't say it's ideal cos it isn't exactly cheap. But Old? Naah.

No I change my vote! Used Mazda 2.

Anyway, I have no idea of the prices, as I'm 13, and am only interested in the prices of my dad's cars.

It'll probably be Hyundai Trajet, our family car. Before I start the driving school, so I won't suck at it. The first car I'd buy would probably be a Nissan 240 SX if I find it anywhere and then tune it. Though, I might rather buy a mazda rx-7, a Toyota Celica, or a Mitsubishi Eclipse. A BMW or a Porsche later.

Again, a Porsche or BMW as a first car is an extremely bad idea.

High insurance + high maintainance + high performance + teenager = Fail

If you are willing to spend $15K or more on a first car, I'd suggest saving a ton of money and going for a very reliable 2004 Toyota Corolla for around $10K.

However, if you don't mind seeing your wallet shrink before your eyes while laughing in the face of death, just ignore everything I said

Yeah, but just don't do it, because they're pants. Unless they're a GT-Four at least. And then that's no good for a learner ;)

Don't get a performance car to learn in, get one after a few years... simple. Depends on what your definition of first car is... my first car is likely to be a performance car, but that's because I would have driven for a few years, earnt a bit of money and borrowed the parents' for a while.... If you can't wait, get something nimble and zippy like a Civic if you want to mod... a few suspension tweaks, borrowed parts from higher models and small engine mods can make it a bit more fun.

Id modify the suspension and steering first. My other half drives an EK (which coincidentally shes selling...), and honestly, you turn the wheel and nothing really happens until you give it another full turn. Brakes are fantastic, though.

Yeah, some cars can be setup with somewhat sloppy suspension... the 380 does what you tel it, the magna is a lazy thing that's good to drive if you're lazy yourself.

This may explain why I've never found the EK's interesting to drive at all :P

Have to admit, I was driving it for 3 days while mine was being MOT'd, and its the first time ever Ive understood why some people just arent interested in cars. It really is just a tool to get from A to B...although mines better on fuel!

Id still rock an EK4 or EK9 though. :P
