hi guys
i am new to Nfs unlimited and my system CONFIG is
Pentium D(805) 2.66Ghzs Dual Core
Gigabyte 81865GME-775 Motherboard
2 X 1GB STROTIUM Ram DDR 400
sapphire Ati Radeon 9550 256MB
Creative Audigy 2 zs platinum soundcard
250GB + 80GB sata HDD
400W SMPS Iball
Sony DVD RW
Tech com tv tuner

During the Nfs Undercover game play back with 1024x768 resolution the game plays smoothly and during the cornors or the edges of the road while crossing the car the game stucks or freezes from time to time a whats the main cause i think SMPS MUST BE 500W OR A GRAPHICS CARD must be Nvidia please give me a solution for this

Overall system performance is at bare minimum for Undercover, your gfx card being the primary bottleneck. 9550 just can't cut it anymore...

The 9550 doesn't support Shader Model 3.0. Hence, you're not going to get very good graphics out of it.

which one is good for gaming in AGP versions i cant offer more for my desktop but i want to improve my system performance with low cost

I hate to tell you, but AGP is VERY outdated. No matter what, you're not going to get a large amount of performance out of it, while you still should be able to get a noticeable increase in performance, that increase will be limited, greatly.

thanks for your quick reply .........

according to your reply there are no ways to improve my system performance but my system gives a vista rating 3.3 for gaming and 3.8 for aero graphics and it loads vista for 12 sec"s its great for office work like catia ,autocad,

Not quite. A new card WILL improve your performance, it's just that your system will be limited by it's AGP interface.

But by all means, if you can't afford a new Motherboard, CPU, etc; a new graphics card should still help your problem.

I'm not quite up-to-date on AGP cards, might better let someone else take that one buddy.

Thanks for your PM though.

I think the X800 was the last AGP card made by ATI.

In any case, you really should consider a new computer. Your motherboard is outdated considering the RAM slots run at 200 MHz, you only have a single core CPU that isn't very good anyways, and you still have an AGP slot.

If I'm not mistaken ATI HD3850 is the latest (last?) AGP card which you can get, for about 150eur. Not bad performance wise either... Fully DirectX 10.1 compliant, so it supports all the current bells & whistles.

Atleast Sapphire makes them:

Ps. You need minimun 450W PSU to run this. Be sure to get a bigger PSU if you should get one.

Intel generally performs better, but is usually a bit more expensive aswell. Bottom line: matters of personal taste and thickness of wallet.

Intel runs cooler and the newer chips generally perform better. I don't know about their overclockability, but AMD's processors should be used in conjunction with an aftermarked cooler if they're overclocked.

You should also consider your graphics card as part of your setup. I've seen a bunch of people get high end graphics card with puny CPUs that cause bottlenecks, and then complain about their graphics.

You should be able to get a 9600GT with that amount or close. Manufacturer doesn't really matter, they all perform roughly the same. Depends on what is bundled with the card (maybe a game or some other software).

As vellu said, there are plenty of 9600GT priced within that range and they all perform well.

It's ok, but a 9600GT (if equally priced) even with less memory would be noticeably faster (the 1 gfx ram doesn't really do anything for todays games).

If you are really curious about the performance differences there's a bit of a review with comparison between the 9500GT, 8800GT and 9600GT as well as a couple of others.

Code: Select all

Gah! You should've gotten the 9600GT. IT will max Undercover. The lower VRam isn't that big a deal yet... 512mb is good wnough for high textures @ 1080p resolution. It's the speed you want.

Thanks for your replies.......
WITH sparkle 9500gt GFX card i can play smoothly undercover at maximum resolution, car detail, smoke on and vise versa.....but while playing Nfs prostreet there is no smoothness playback as undercover, why it is because of game drawback or my GFX card drawback some of my friends use same gfx card they dont have this problem,i think the problem is my ram or my processor :D

The memory module used in my Gfx card is "HYNIX"
But my ram is trancend

OR

my processor is Pentium D(2XP4 CORES)

PLEASE SUGGEST A SOLUTION FOR THIS

Hmm... shouldn't be processor or RAM for Prostreet, I have a dual core conroe... not core 2 duo, and that's maxxed on my 8600GT 1280x1024.

In undercover, I doubt it's maxxed though... and especially with anti aliasing. My 9600GT only just gets to a playable point on max at a 1080p resolution with 8x (or 6...) AA It's like borderline FPS, lol. But plays fine. You don't want anything lower though.

Agree with baumaxx1. You shouldn't be bottlenecked by either the processor or the RAM. What operating system are you playing the games on? Windows XP or Vista?
