NFS 4 & 5 online play

It's been over a year since I had loaded either of these games up. Today I decided to play them again. They both run fine on my WinXP machine, but I've found that there seems to be no online servers anymore for multiplayer. Neither game will even update through the autoupdate program. Has EA dropped support for these games? If so, is there other servers to connect to?
