help on pc asap
well, since im getting a car, i didn't have much money to get a new computer, so i figure i upgraded it....now i have a amd sepron 2.8, i use to have a amd athlon 1.2, i also upgraded and got a new video card, i had a radeon 128 mb 9600 series, now i have a nvidia geforce 256 mb 6200....i still have 512 of ram, and a 80 gb of hard drive. i can tell a difference, but not alot...im dissapointed because i thought i was going to be able to run nfsu2 on high everything and still run smooth....but if i put everything on it just runs slow....can you guys help me out..and tell me what to upgrade so im able to put everything on and at highest settings and still run like it would with nothing on.....

Actually, a 6200 is pretty shiznit unless you overclock it. The processor isn't that great, I think it's an average right now.El1jonMC305 wrote:well, since im getting a car, i didn't have much money to get a new computer, so i figure i upgraded it....now i have a amd sepron 2.8, i use to have a amd athlon 1.2, i also upgraded and got a new video card, i had a radeon 128 mb 9600 series, now i have a nvidia geforce 256 mb 6200....i still have 512 of ram, and a 80 gb of hard drive. i can tell a difference, but not alot...im dissapointed because i thought i was going to be able to run nfsu2 on high everything and still run smooth....but if i put everything on it just runs slow....can you guys help me out..and tell me what to upgrade so im able to put everything on and at highest settings and still run like it would with nothing on.....

Really doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. As long as the chipset (6600GT) and the RAM amout you're going for are the same, performance differences between manufacturers are all but unmeasurable.
Naturally there are cheap manufacturers and more expensive ones. I'd shoot some where in the middle of the price range; no need to pay premium, but also one should avoid possible inferior components (usually the biggest factor being quality of RAM used on the card, even affects performance a little bit).

should i just get the XFX 6600 gt it has 128 mb i belive. AMD Sepron 2.8, 512 ddr ram, XFX 6600 GT = good enough to run nfsu2 at full blast and perfect smoothness?
or should i try and upgrade to a amd 64 3200?... or is it not so needed?
btw my brand name for ram is called kingston.....i think it sucks.....can that also be affecting?

only problem is that....right now i have a Thermal w.e 450 watt power supply....do you think that is enough?

okay so im going to go to tiger direct in a little, bit im going to see if i can get a new motherboard that can support a amd 64 3000, another 512 of ram, and the 6800 ultra, im pretty sure i'll be able to even run doom 3 on max settings and still play perfectly right?
so then my specs would be AMD 64 3000, 1024 ddr ram, 6800 ultra

would all of this work if i got more RAM and a new processor?
Dell Dimension 2400
Currently:Intel Celeron 2.40 GHz
512 MB of RAM
Intel Extreme Graphics 82845G
Windows XP SP2
if these suck and i know the probaly do.. can any 1 tell me any oveclockin sites or sumthin like that or some advice for smoother gameing because i think UG2 will run better on my comp than UG1 in terms of speed (in somewhat differnce) but not with looks because the higher i put the setting on UG2 demo the slower it goes so i have to put it on the 2nd setting (Medium-Low)

Get rid of cr-applets running in the background and set your settings on what you card can handle. I reccomend turning off certain things a cheap card may have trouble with (I.E. Enhanced Contrast, AA, Fog, M Blur)S2000_Skyline12 wrote:then why is it so laggish on the UG series
After my recent upgrade, i can finally use EC
korge
The Intel Extreme Graphics is a motherboard integrated graphic device. It's performance is no where near any decent separate graphic card. For example ANY Radeon 9x00 series (and their nvidia equivalents) will out perform it.S2000_Skyline12 wrote:then why is it so laggish on the UG series
That's why.
