I've been thinking about how the voting works in the NFSU Showroom...

...and i think it sucks. if u only delete ur cookies, u can vote again, and so push ur own car into the charts...

BUT, i have another suggestion

why just don't make it impossible for guests to vote? only registred and logged on members with more than 5-10 posts in forum are allowed to vote? that way there will be a WAY more fair chart in my opinion..

perhaps the post-requirement is a bit too much, but i still think it'd be good to only make members able to vote.

this is just me brainstorming, but some feedback would be nice

The deleting cookies thing happens on all sites. It's PHP's fault and I don't think we can do anything about it. About your suggestion..we don't really have enough members to do that but it may be possible later on as the forum gets bigger.

It is impossible for a about two weeks now to vote again by disabling cookies.

And yes, I have been thinking of creating user only voting, along with the current voting.

Also I'm not satisfied with the number of views things and I'm thinking of creating a top ten with # of views per week.

Will probably do this in the next few weeks.

what do u mean by not enough members SuperRacer? soon nfsunlimited.net reaches 1400 members, which i think is enough for a "members-only" voting.

But as bobyx said, we can still have the current, "guest" voting...

Well yes, actually now the script remembers your hostname (ip) so if you are on adsl with dynamic ip or on dialup you'll still be able to vote more than once.

And I also found out that cookies only lasted 1 day... That is now changed to 100.

u tell me... some stupid guy, named "jimz" just started voted 1s to all the other cars but his own and those ugly 206...

he vote for his own car 5-6 times...only 10s...
