Crashing. What the hell!?

Post by MadRopes »

Ok well I've been playing NFSMW the last couple of days fine. Then last night, I get a some spyware, and I continue to get rid of it today. Now, when I try to start NFSMW, my comp makes this sound (Like it does when its loading something but it was like a singular "Bump") then it goes to black screen, flashes a bit, then shoots me back to my desktop. Anyone know how the hell I can fix this?

Thanks.

Btw, I tried reinstalling and that didn't help at all.

Try switching it off or deactivating it. Spywares usually runs in the background. Background tasks sometime affects the gameply. :)

you mean switch off the spyware in the processes tab in task manager?

If so, how would I know which ones?

from wat i can gather from ur explanation is that u have been playing nfsmw without any troubles for a few days and then u found some spyware on ur pc and removed it.
If this is the case then u may have accidentaly removed vital parts of windows when u deleted the infected spyware files from ur system. if so then u need to repair ur system.
u do so by inserting ur windows disk rebooting and press any key where it says press any key to boot from disk wait...follow the instruction onscreen until u are asked if u would like to repair the system then do that. remember to put graphics card drivers back on afterwoods.
If this is not wat happened and u did not remove the spyware but mearly discovered it then u will need to remove it. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/default.shtml.en
Use that program to remove. dont worry about stuffing ur system because the program quarentines the files so if u need to replace them u can.

You should try reading <a href="http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/ph ... 1">this</a> info from EA Support.

All I did was run ad aware and trend micro. It appeared to fix the problem I was having with my internet browser. But then today I go to start MW and it does this black screen, then shoots me back to desktop right away.

It was working 100% yesterday.

If I were you I'd re-format that hard drive some time soon. It sounds like you've got a very mucked up installation of Windows, even if the problem was fixed for the time being. You'll most likely see more problems down the road until you wipe the slate clean.

if u do end up reformating then i recommend that u use this program
http://dban.sourceforge.net/
it will completely wipe the hard drive permanently it wont leave anything behind like formating does.
make sure u backup first!
