Setups > D Class Megane RS (hopefully) Final tune

A Renault Mégane RS setup for Race / Time Attack by Laughlyn created on 20. April 2011 06:56.

After feedback from other forum communities and folk from my friendlist, i've tweaked the Megane RS tune and this should be the final version of the tune.

Main comments were that the front end kept sticking out a bit on long easy corners meaning you had to feather the accel to stay on race line and after long straights, sometimes the brakes were not strong enough to slow down in time and because to brake split the car understeered when trying to turn while still braking for the corner. i also adjusted car upgrade settings to allow for the NOS kit which on London raceway - Whitehall drive and Road america, allows car to get to a max 145mph one or twice on the straights, perfect for extending lead, knocking few secs off lap time or catching up if u balls a corner up.
Also upgrading the cockpit is optional depending on cash, it doesnt seem to do anything to make the car better, just there for aesthetical purpose

My fastest lap on road america is now 2:34.514 which is 0:00.300 faster than my previous laptime with the old tune.

My control settings are as follows

Handling mode - Experienced
Anti Lock brakes - On
Traction control - Low
Stability control - Off

Steering deadzone - 5%
Steering sensitivity - 40%

I would also like to thank everyone for their comments, i've only recently started tuning the cars and i really am starting from scratch and all the positive comments have been a great boost to my confidence and i hope i can keep up the standard :D

also noticed that i'd accidentally elected Bodykit #2 when it should have been kit 3. i'm guessing most have noticed teh mistake due to the PP values but i've corrected it now and it also allows the 12/13 downforce

 1. 499
 2. D

Great car! I was browsing other web pages when I saw this site. The overview exhibited above supplemented me as well the readers of your page with additional information. I'm hoping that I can have that model too! Does this cost like an installment loan in preparing the set up in general? I am not that much informed about this kind of thing but the overview woke my interest. This is really awesome!

It's such a big deal for me to be part of this community, I learned so much already. My favorite part is tuning the cars, in fact I am about to close a deal with an used cars Plymouth MA dealer to get my own car that's perfect for this tuning style. I am about the "enter the game" myself.

experts? Here's my Renault experience: Megane II 1.6 Expression bought new in 2005 with means of cash advance loans. No major problems to date (203 000km). Only the ff done Front brake pads replaced on 118 000 and now at 203 000 km: rear ones on 131 000 and 203 000; front breake discs skiMmed on 203 000 for first time, rear ones to be replaced next week; aircon pump replaced on 198 000; clutch on 203 000; battery on 142 000. Now on third set of tyres. No mechanical breakdowns, no electrical failures, no rattles, despite regular off-road trips on really bad dirt roads while on holday. But I can tell you stories about friends', colleagues' and family's high-brand cars...
