Screenie Question

I've seen a lot of presentations where the cars have some really kool and realistic looking shadows. But what gets me is that in most of them, the car is cropped out of it's original background. How do you guys get shadows like that?

This is the kind of effect I'm talking about. Notice how the car has a very realistic looking shadow under it, and how the shadow blends in with the background.

May you/anyone explain more deeply how is used the airbrush? I have no idea.

You can do it like this.

- select the parts under the car that need shadow.
- take the brush and set the colour to black.
- now lower the opacity (40-60) of the brush so it looks a bit transparent.
- brush very carefully over the parts that need shadow. make sure that the brush is big enough (atleast 15 or 20 pixels)

that should do it.

That also works, but it gives too many shadow sometimes.

Actually, if you look closely at fishwhiz's Subaru, It hasn't actually been given a shadow in photoshop. Its been cropped out of the pic it was in with a little bit of the road underneath and then the rubber tool has been used to blend the road with the background, which might be a little bit easier then cropping the whole car and then brushing a shadow.

Sorry if i sound like a smarta$$ im actally a photoshop amatur.
