i want to spruce this topic up a bit as it seems it's dying down!

though not cars you can sit in, they're still cars, and awesome! check out this neat little vid of what you can really do with an RC Car!

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 822330&n=2 - S15 Silvia RC

doesn't that seem like so much fun?!

well drag tires have low pressure to begin with. it's used because the faster the engine spins the the faster that centrifugal force pushes the air inside the tires outwards expanding the tires to it's maximum while providing amazing grip. still fascinating to see how much torque those cars have that they nearly flatten their tires from weight transfer!

As far as I know that's not really how it works.

The tyres you see in that video are called 'wrinkle-walled' tyres. They run at low pressure, and the rapid acceleration of the wheel causes the sidewall to collapse. This lets the tyres squash down on the road and create a larger contact patch.

The centrifugal force only kicks in at the other end of the drag strip, where the tyre will stretch outwards and provide the effect of a taller final-drive, as well as a smaller contact patch, and a higher trap speed can be achieved.

if that's a manual transmission he's a moron. that burns your gears up. "power shifting" is more like "gear grinding" lol..

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9bb9 ... 34e134.htm

i dare a ricer match that without an engine swap. 657 on pump gas, true; raw; american v8 power..listen to that supercharger!

Does it look like a manual transmission?

He's just slamming the selector back and forth in a weak effort to pretend that he is driving a manual.
