Hmm... When I saved it it said it was like 42kb.

when u save it the file isalways abt 10-20 kb larger than it says it is gonna be

Not for me, CS2 says the right size when I'm saving it.

You're just using the normal 'save as...' method which is pretty sktchy at that, instead use the 'save for web' (ctrl+alt+shift+s) option and you can end up getting it finely saved down to the near maximum.

As I usually do and get signature saves as close to the maximum as possible to ensure I get the best quality avaliable.

I do use save for web, it's the only way to meet this sites strict signature restrictions. I don't see why we should have such a small file size limit, just because not everyone is fortunate enough to not have dial-up shoudn't mean that the people that don't, have to suffer. They can turn signatures off if they want.

It's not like they look bad or anything anyway. Just be thankful that there's no required .jpg format.
